Had anyone seen "The Messengers" yet?

I really want to see this movie. And normally I could care less what other people think, but scary movies are a completely different ball game. Since well... most of them REALY suck ass. But The Messengers looks really good and caught my attention. Anyone seen it yet and can give some input?

Most modern horror movies do suck ass, and this one looks like it does too.
Just out of curiosity, what looks different about this one compared to the million other "ghost/little kids" movies out within the past 5 years?

(this post came off more "asshole-like" then I intended)

Everything I've heard corroborates your opinion that nothing special is going on here, and I'm not even talking about reviews, because I haven't read a single one about it. Let's put it this way: I can see this for free, and I'm still not going to see it.

Well, I'm big fan of the leading lady. And normally the acting in horror movies is absolutely wretchid. Just seemed really interesting. Like I really enjoyed The Ring. I know many people don't agree with that. But it's one of the few horror movies I really liked. And I also enjoyed Ju On, which is the Japanese version of the Grudge. That movie actually left me a little spooked afterwards.

I really just want to see a movie that leaves me thinking "OMG WHAT WAS THAT?!" afterwards. And this movie looked like it had the potential.

The fact that they show the preview of this every hour while I am at one of my jobs has made me dislike this movie strongly, although I'm intending to go so I can be the only person in the theatre who laughs.

I like one of their earlier movies, The Eye and the fact that one of the directors is named Oxide Pang.

I think it's rated PG-13 and in this day and age, that doesn't bode well for a horror movie. In the 80's something like Poltergeist was rated PG-13, I beelive, but ratings were actually not as strict as they are now (though just as inconsistant). Today, a horror movie that is rated PG-13 sends me the message that they know the movie sucks, but they're hoping to not limit the audience as much as possible to maximize the gross.
