Considering how worse drivers are getting on the ground, I can't even imagine the nightmare that hundreds, thousands of drivers of flying cars would cause.
I still want one, don't get me wrong. But just think of all crashes and debris and stuff. And what type of fuel would they use?

Sites that may or may not interest you..
it will never happen in our lifetime, if one crashed into a house it could kill an entire family.
Also the licences you would need would be crazy, my friend is a pilot and he spent 4 years part time to get his licence.
i was just thinking about this the other day. it's hard enough to regulate speed, etc. on the ground. cars the air would be an absolute nightmare imo. on top of speeding, how would you properly regulate where people could "drive"? they would be buzzing through peoples' yards, over their houses, etc. trying to save 2 minutes of travel time because they're running late for work or whatever.
i seem to recall that there was talk of some type of "autopilot" system that would keep aircars in specific air corridors.

What kind of fuel??? Dude, Mr. Fusion!!! Duh.
Anyway, I think the Minority Report cars were more practical.
I doubt it will ever happen. Not because of technology but because it's just not practical. It would create more problems than it would solve. Even if flying cars are invented they will probably only be available to emergency services or police. The average shmo will never have them for the same reason the average shmo doesn't get to drive around in his own personal tank.
