Thread: Wildstorm sure knows how to waste a reboot

Wildstorm sure knows how to waste a reboot

They reboot their world, and change pretty much nothing. The only thing changed really is Gen 13, and that's just starting it over. WildCATS takes place 1 month before the reboot, which is just confusing. And Authority, who the hell knows because we've had one issue where nothing happened and we didn't see the Authority. Stormwatch PHD is a new team, new characters mostly, but you didn't need a reboot to do it. It would've worked fine without a reboot.

Tranquility, Stormwatch and Midnighter are the best books.

Gen 13's a pretty fun book. Midnighter is good, and the Authority....well, I'm hoping that the buildup won't take too long..

There was a relaunch? I'm enjoying Gen 13 and Midnighter, and I'm pretty sure Tranquility is in its own universe much like Red Menace and Ex Machina.

Tranquility is pure brilliance and I love Midnighter. The Boys is easily in my top 5 favorite titles too.

Oh, I love the books. Especially Midnighter and Stormwatch PHD. But I don't really think a reboot was necessary, or if it was, they could've done more. It's like they said 'Let's do a Crisis! But let's make have about the same effect on the world as House Of M.' A few people aren't dead anymore, a few things are changed, no big whoop.

Let's face it: Wildstorm, the universe is dead. The only way the franchises could survive is to fold them into the DC universe, like the Charlton (right?) characters did way back when.

Use the monicker "Wildstorm" as a breeding ground of interesting modern concepts, as a more hip, West Coast Vertigo.

    that's what I'd suggest

Midnighter had a one panel cameo.

    It did seem pointless.

The only thing I's want to know is how does the reboot effect Planetary and Sleeper? Are they both retconned out of existence now?

Here's what I'm wondering as far as the Authority goes: Does this means Jenny Sparks will be back on the team somehow?
