I'm wondering where the hell my hoverboard is.

Sorry! I know I said I'd have it back by Sunday, but I needed it for a couple of extra days. I really am almost done with it... :scared:

What year do they go to in that movie? I thought it was at least 2015.

i bought the trilogy deluxe pack a while back. After listening to the commentary, i was really impressed by all the little things they put in the movies, especially the first one, of what changes every time Marty goes back to 1985.

I was amased in the little details in general. I was amased when i discovered that the mayor candidate in 1955, turns out to be the "Red" the bum back in 1985.

Wow, really? Nice to know, since I thought I was the only one.

To tell the truth, the only one of the movies that I REALLY liked was the first, which makes me feel like an old fart, since it's the "low-key romantic comedy" one. Oh well. *sigh*

Huh. I actually thought that was one of the more obvious "details". But everyone reacts to these differently, I guess.

I like the first one the best, followed by the third one. I don't like this one mainly because they travel to the future instead of the past, and I'm not usually keen on stories that depict the future as a central part of the plot, mostly because the depictions end up being silly more often than not.

How can you hate on the Jaws sequel sequence.

Jaws never, ever, ever, ever, in any plane of existence, in all discovered and undiscovered dimensions, had sequels.

I was in 9th grade when this movie came out. I remember because there was a "making of" special on NBC in which (director) Robert Zemeckis said (very tongue-in-cheek like) that the hoverboards were real but that a parents group had prevented them from being manufactured due to the high risks involved in riding them.

My best friend at the time saw this and somehow completely failed to pick up on the whole tongue-in-cheek delivery of Mr. Z's quote. And he was convinced that it was TRUE. He then spent the next 2 years convinced that he could build his own hoverboard.

Robert Zemeckis agrees. He's said that if he'd known they were going to do a sequel, he absolutely would not have ended the first one with them heading into the future. And he was very reluctant to do the sequel because he knew that in order to do so, he'd have to keep that "promise" to go into the future that was made at the end of the first one.

This is why the future stuff only takes up the first third of the film. What ultimately made him want to do the second one was when they came up with the idea of going back to 1955 again and playing around the edges of scenes from the first movie.

Awwww..... wow, when did this flick come out? I think I was 12. :)

My neighbor who just moved from Florida tried to convince me they had hover boards down there. I challenged him to prove it and of course, he was full of shit. At least I was cynnical enough to back then. :)

In my opinion, the 1955 plots were the best part of BttF II.

The future stuff is just... bad.
