drops at Midnight at the local Wal-Mart of Doom. I think I'll swing by and see if I can score a collector's edition just for shits and giggles.
i'm debating whether to try to pick this up now or wait for every other nerd in the universe gets their copy.

I expect it to be unplayable for the next few days anyway. I'm really just on the prowl for the collector's edition because I like the WarCraft art book I got with War 3, I've written many a project with the original WoW soundtrack playing in the background and I dig the WoW trading card game, which has 2 packs in this set.
If I don't land a collector's box tonight, I'll just hit Best Buy in the next few days and use my gift card to buy the standard box there.

I really want to play and like WoW, unfortunatly, both times I've tried a trial subscription, I was never able to get a steady connection. Tried switching firewall software, updating my router, all that kinds of stuff. Any other MMORPG I've tried (admittedly, only 3 or 4 others) work fine, but WoW always kicks me off 5 to 20 minutes in.

I'll go try the local EB or Best Buy tonight, with the same expectations of not actually being able to get it because god forbid I didn't pre-order the thing.
I would like to establish right now that I hate pre-ordering, I don't pre-order, and I will never pre-order. I don't believe in it. I am a pre-order atheist. Fuck pre-ordering!
Now fucking order some fucking copies of the fucking game, EB fucks!
And no, I'm NOT fucking interested in your fucking industry killing pre-played games. I won't ever buy those either, you fucks!

Hmm, I don't know if I have the gold together on my Hunter yet. I'll do that when I can though.

Yes but that was a wonderful rant. EB needs to be told a thing or two about a thing or two.

EB around here has been a pleasure to deal with. Only one time was I asked if I had pre-ordered when I went searching for Gears of War while Amazon was busy not shipping my copy. I was told "We got in 50 extra copies, which should have lasted the week, and they all sold out today."
On a side note, just back from Wal-Mart of Doom. Collector's edition in hand.
It's always creepy to be in a room so full of nerdy people that you realize "Oh my God... I'm cool compared to these guys."

Nooooo.... I'm pretty sure these guys are of the class that I was beating them up in grade school.
My favorite though was the guy whose wife was sitting there, a few dollars worth of pot holders in hand, staring at them and looking very, very tired. Her expression told a long and twisted tale that I could have followed home and happily documented until the Pulitzer Prize Van pulled up in front of my house to award me for my work.

Don't worry. I've got MM 15 to polish and a few pages of 16 to write.

Hooray for the DVD build of the game in the collector's edition. Its been cranking for several minutes and is only 29% done. Now I'm working (well posting here at the moment) instead of swapping CDs.

I wonder how early I should head over to Best Buy, or maybe I can just hit there right at midnight.

Wal-Mart of Doom had 6 collector's editions and (I think they said) 120 regular. I walked into the waiting area at quarter till and snagged the last of the collectors.
Now this is suburban Atlanta, so I'd guess in LA you're set for the regular edition and might stand a chance at a collectors, but you might want to aim for 11 instead of 12 if your heart is set on the big monster.

This is the end... the end of Wow, tonight... the servers all blow up, my friends... smoke over Orange County, the end...

by the way -- the soundtrack to this game is gorgeous. Much better produced than the last game's was.

we need to form a Reed Guild on WoW.
That'd be great! I'd even start over with a new character if we could do it on one of the less occupied servers.

Because the Draenei are fugly... which is why they were thrown into the alliance side...
Hellfire Peninsula, on the other hand, is slammed... every quest location is massively camped by both alliance and horde, and the lag in the middle of the zone is so attrocious that I can kill people before they know what's hitting them.

From what my neighbors said...Bliz also fucked up and made too few quests for the starting area everyone over 60 is getting funneled through. Then the quests are collection quests with a ten percent drop and needing to collect twelve. Apparently my neighbors completed one of these quests...it took over three hours. Fun.

Horde definitely got the advantage on this one. The Blood Elves look cooler, have better skills (Blood Elf Warlock is a no-brainer), and their starting area is much better.
