just got this from my LCS guy:

hey everyone, hope you had a fun New Years,

Mine was spoiled by some very disturbing news. A truck headed for LA
Warehouse got stuck in a storm in Texas, and guess what was on that
truck?
Civil War #6. That means that EVERY SINGLE store on the west coast
(that are
serviced by the LA Diamond Warehouse) will not be receiving that book
this
week. We will have it next week, with the rest of the West Coast.

Why is this not on Newsarama or CBR?

Wow. About an hour ago, I learned it was coming out this week, and I was really happy.

Now I find out that I won't get it, and I'm really sad.

It's an emotional rollercoaster.

Let's hope AndyJoe's LCS guy is smokin' it.

Hmm... so some stores might have copies...

I think I'll wait and call around to the many comic stores in the area on Thurs. morning.

It's a 10-15% allocation - so if your store normally gets 100 copies, they'll get less than 15. So the odds of finding a copy of CW #6 (*cough* as anything but a download) aren't very good.

Assuming Diamond is treating all retailers equally, of course.

The last two weeks have been weird due to weather incidents and the fact that holiday's are falling on Monday's. So, no big surprise, but does suck for those on the West Coast. Just have to patient.

F'real. I seriously doubt that retailers all over the country are going to miss out on one week's worth of sales because their left coast breathren got hosed.

Especially as then, they would probably have to hold out on releasing both ASM and Front Line too, since they'll have massive spoilers.

Well, looks like there's no reason to go to the shop this week. And I'm out of town next week, so seems I won't be able to read CW6 for a couple weeks.

Not to mention all the other stuff I'll be missing out on this week.

Fuck!

I love this editor's note:

Newsarama Note: Out of respect for those readers who will not be receiving their copies of Civil War #6 this week, all Civil War-related articles will be clearly marked with spoiler warnings. And finally, a note/request for civilility in the thread that follows - yes Civil War is an issue that fans like to debate - heatedly. This is not an issue related to the story, Mark Millar, Joe Quesada, or virtually anything Marvel. Yes, the book was late, and yes, in a perfect world, had all the issues been on time, there wouldn't be an issue of Civil War shipping this week. And yes, this issue was pushed back, skipping last week for this week. There were problems last week as well, and no one can definitvely say that if you added the volume of books that Civil War #6 represents on top of last week's problems, things would have turned out any differently. So - again - this is not a Marvel-bashing thread, a Marvel vs. DC thread, or "Marvel is teh sux" thread. Those looking to treat it as such will be shown the door without ceremony.

In other words, no one criticize Marvel's scheduling.

I think it's more of a "Hey, whiny, crybaby losers that post on Newsarama, please, don't whine about this problem" thing.

And, lo, they also commanded yon sun not to rise and did thus rage in their impotence.

I'm starting to feel a little bad for Marvel''s luck here, but this only drives up demand for the book. Again.

I know that Marvel is to blame for everything that's wrong with the industry and all of society's ills in general, but are we blaming the weather on them now, too?
