hbo keeps running commercials for the second season between episodes of entourage and it looks pretty funny. love the american version of the office but have never seen the british original, so i don't have much experience with ricky gevais. should i on demand the first season these next few days?

It's kind of so good that it's not what I would call "funny."

Yeah, they're both good, but the second is much better, IMO, and builds a lot on the first.

thanks for the link. like 4 big laughs along with a constant grin in that one scene. and i thought that there'd been only one season not two, so it looks like i've got lots of funny to watch in the new year.

first off, it's a great show. secondly, there have been two seasons in england, and one in the us. hbo airs it here in the states, so it's the second season us premiere you've been seeing commercials for, which airs january 14.

first of all...go watch the original Office. You need to see it. Probably my favorite "sitcom" ever.

The four episodes I saw from the first season of Extras were a blast, but they didn't have the emotional whollop of the Office. Worth checking out though.

The only problem you may have is recognising the UK TV guest stars, although you get a general idea what they're known for from the episode they turn up in.

It's a damn good show. The second season not being as good as the first for me, too much attention being brought to "barry" who was a big hit from season 1 and losing focus of what I thought to be the thing that made the show, the relationships between everyone, and instead playing for jokes far too much. It picked up again towards the end.

Sir Ian McKellan (sp?) was brilliant as was Robert Lindsay. The song from Bowie was genius.

This was always my favourite office clip.

just finished the first two episodes. truly funny, uncomfortable, and real. i really dig it so far. some highlights :

ep 1 - katre winslet was great, her blueness caught me off gaurd.
- the entire scene with the preist, "old habits die hard. my old preist
used to make me kiss him"
ep 2 - "never get involved with a man who's wife's been murdered"
- "tall, thin, black, white, yellow"
- "would you stop going on about your fucking dead wife!"
- "you tell me, you were in it"
- "in films! it still counts!"

just really funny stuff. thanks for the recommends. on to ep 3.
