Hey I posted this on the Bendis board, but thought some more people might be interested here.

Anyways felt inclined to post this and think some of you might find it cool or hate it (let me know either way)....
basically this is a completely made up movie intro/tiltle sequence to a movie based on the graphic novel "Torso".

http://www.mikebrucher.com/torso.html (big file, so be patient or use the link to load it on your machine)

note to Bendis and Marc Andreyko -This was made for school, so obviouly its for educational purposes so don't sue me (sue the school..?) for using your awesome work for visuals and inspiration.

Please let me know what you all think, movie intro/titles are tricky but I tried to make this one kind of pay obvious homage to the graphic novel while still being able to work as a movie title, all name/actors/directors are completely made up and are just there basically as placeholders

If any of the creators check these boards, let me know if this is cool or pisses you off.

thanks
mb

Hey man- great job it all looks really good to me. I like everything, but I have two criticisms, and Im trying to be constructive so please don't take this in bad way.

1) The main title went by too fast. I wasn't crazy about the move either. Everything else about the piece is so nice and smooth, very soft and dramatic and then the title just flies in. It doesn't feel to fit the same pace and movement of everything else you've worked hard to create.

2) I could only see half of it because it's an mpeg-1 and that is too clunky a compression scheme for the internet. I'm in love with the whatever it is the iPod video uses now. I think it's mpeg-4. Much smoother, much more crisp resolution, and playback over the internet is a million times better. It should be right there in compressor for you, if not you might need to update.

As for sueing the school I think it's only elecronic reproduction that can get you in trouble and even then there was some case last week that went to the supreme court about it. Basically some profs were breaking the copyguard and lifting scenes from movies to make compilation examples for thier classes and the movie studios didn't like it. I don't remember but I think right now, they are allowed to lift scenes?

Again, great job--

Hey thanks man for checking it out. Sorry, I got side tracked and never got back to this forum to quick. Thanks for the ideas and thoughts.

I agree with the pacing, and its definitley something to work with. It is a big file for sure, probally need to download it to your machine rather than watch it streaming. Although I will check out some different compression settings.

Thanks again.
