is going to sooOOOOOoooo fucking rock!!!! It looks gorgeous.

Just saw the preview over at Comicbookresources and, well, wow. I cannot believe how many gallons of pee I just wet on myself over this.

I cannot wait for this book to come out. I have a boxload of Depends ready when it does.

I saw this in the previews and thought about picking it up. I have never bee a big Shazam fan however and I am hesitant. The fact that its only 4 part mini works in its favor though, and there seems to be alot of excitement by most of you who have commented on it here on the boards.

I am just not sure how good of a 'jumping on' point this mini would be.

I'm thinking I will wait on the trade/HC.

Did you see this (http://www.boneville.com/2006/11/28/shazam-production-journal-the-seven-deadly-enemies-of-man), Tom? Jeff's homages to the Golden Age Shazam. It's pretty cool.

I hope this sells rings around Winick's Shazam! project.

I don't think it's related to current continuity at all, so I think you can read it as a self-contained story.

I can't wait for this. I talked to him about it... maybe 3 years ago at MOCCA. It sounds so good. I think it's going to be exactly what I like about these characters.

There's a sense of innocence about this work that has been missing in comics in general for decades. I think I'll read it on a Saturday morning, like 7a.m., while eating a huge bowl of Cocoa Puffs.

I've been looking forward to this since I bought the BONE One Volume last year. I love Shazam. I love Jeff Smith's work.

How can I not be excited?!

Agreed.

It's going to be the highlight of the month.

It looks amazing, and I really cannot wait.

More comic books should inspire a sense of awe, a sense of childlike wonder at how cool they can be. That doesn't happen nearly enough these days, but the preview of this book posted on Newsarama absolutely inspired awe. It looks wonderful.

the only thing better than jeff smith's shazam would be for marvel to give tom beland an avengers mini-series to write / draw. that would reek of awesomeness squared.

Not digging the color. I wish it was black-and-white art.

Smith is the perfect fit for a Shazam book. I think he'll capture the whimsical and mystical nature of Shazam perfectly. I am so excited for this.

i was very excited when this was announced, but the preview pages turned me off from it. i'm a smith fan though, so i'll wait for some revews, or at least look through the issue.

I think it's the way Captain Marvel is drawn.

i like exaggeration, but i think it's the pronouned muscles, and that color gradation in each one (it looks amateurish). I think it's really the coloring.

yeah, i like the big muscle look on Captain Marvel, but i'd like it if the interior pages were more like the cover.

just more simplified... i'm a fan of the Dini-ish look.

but again, it's just some of the coloring in the pages.
