MAY 01, 2005 -- A fast food employee in Wilmington cut his finger off and it ended up being sold in a pint of ice cream.
Clarence Stowers claims a finger tip was in the pint of chocolate frozen custard from Kohl's restaurant on South College Road.
The owner of the fast food restaurant, Craig Thomas, says there was an accident at that location. The incident occured just after 7:00 Sunday night.
Thomas tells us a male employee did cut the tip of his finger off, then ran back to tell the manager. He says before the front of the store could be notified, the finger got packed into a pint of frozen custard.
Stowers is calling a lawyer after biting into the finger.
Thomas says his main concern is getting the finger back.
The employee was taken to cape fear memorial hospital.
Thomas is currently working with law enforcement to get the finger back. However, we spoke with a local surgeon who says once the finger has been frozen, it cannot be reattached.
