My computer crashed, which is why I've been gone for the last couple weeks. Some kind of Windows booting error that could have resulted in the loss of all my data -- some of which is irreplacable, like the prose story I had finished a day or so before before the crash, but hadn't bothered to back up on CD yet.

I was lucky -- a $75 diagnostic/repair and I had my computer back safe and working, data and all. My prose was safe, but only by chance.

So don't let yourself worry like I did when your computer crashes -- back up your sexy, sexy data before it's too late!

I don't even know how to Save my bookmarks!

If my laptop crashes, my computer days are done.

I always attach my writing to a gmail and send it to myself, effectivley backing it up on the web. It saved my ass once when my PC crashed and I was still in my MFA program.

Thanks for the tip Tibb.

I back up my computer on a weekly basis to an external hard drive.

I store everything that is important enough not to want to lose in a crash on a secondary drive

You can store it on my hard drive for safe keeping. ;)
