"Listen carefully NP faithful. To commeroate the launch of The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess for Wii on Nov 19th, Nintendo will be giving away a very speical, very rare gift in Animal Crossing: Wild World. Be sure to connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection during the week of Nov 17th-24th to recive a letter from Nintendo (which will show up in your mailbox near your home) and collect the attached item-you don’t want to miss this one."-Nintendo Power
I want this, but I haven't been to my town in months. I sort of fear going back. The bugs. The weeds. People yelling at me. A mailbox full of crap.
But if I start over fresh, I'll lose my sizeable fossil collection and... oh Jesus... Tom Nook. *shudder*

I have decided that I don't like it when games yell at me for not playing. That Brainage Cocksucker is keeping me from turning that back on.
As for Nook..."I ain't gonna work on Tom Nook's farm no more!"

I'm seriously considering getting wild world for my DS, worth it? I never played the NGC version.

If you never played the GC version, it's more than worth it.

Animal Crossing? Are you guys discussing Animal Crossing!?? I cannot believe it! That is the game my 7 year old daughter was addicted to last year. We went to Walt Disney World last November and that was what she was playing the whole car trip from Miami to Orlando. Then we went back to Orlando in February for Magacon and it was the same thing. I remember last November when she first got it that nasty mole or whatever it is got her scared the first time he started screaming at her and calling her punk because she forgot to save. Brian, do you have a link that explains how to get whatever they are giving away in November?

If you're talking about the DS version, all you really need to do is connect to Nintendo WFC (Wi-Fi Connection) during that timeframe by heading up to the town gates and talking to Copper. You need to have a usable Wi-Fi connection handy, so if you don't have one in your house, you can head to McDonald's, where we've got some strange agreement signed that they provide free Wi-fi hotspots for DS users. Or we used to.

I still love this game, even though i dont really play i much anymore. Something aobut the characters and the animal voices and just the feel of the game stick with me. I kind of have the same thing with the harvest moon games. I wont buy the DS one because i know the horrible addiction it will bring back into my life.

Yes, she has the DS version. Thanks, Ramtower, now I need to check if anyone of the locals MCDonalds has a Wi-fi connection. I'll also tell my niece and nephew, they are addicted to Animal Crossing too.

Not a picture of it, but do you think the item could be this (http://www.animalxing.com/ww_search.php?n=triforce&l=&h=&b=on&a=0&g=0&st=&sz=0&fg=0&co=0&c=f&sc=1)?

It might be, but I would have expected something more difficult to acquire. I got the triforce from Crazy Redd and the master sword from...somewhere some time ago, but they were both expensive. Still, I don't know what other zelda-related items they could be giving away...

Most of the time they give away existing things. Would be cool if they had a minish cap eh?

After almost a week, a man can forget he ever wrote the words:
Dr. Floatyhead McFuckbucket and I have parted ways
There are some things a man should never forget.

Just went back to my town for the first time in months and months. The place is covered in weeds, the house was full of bugs -- and there was a Master Sword sitting in the mail box after I connected to WFC.
I decided the weeds could stay, but the bugs had to go. I don't want to go grabbing the Master Sword to fend off a furry-style burglar and get a handful of bug guts in the process.

I showed my nephew this thread. He connected himself and my daughter to Nintendo Wi-Fi on Sunday but there was no letter in their mailbox??!!

Huh. My son just did it last night. However, we discovered that you need to have a friend code to be allowed onto the NWFC server (since you can't visit or be visited by other random players). So I had to give him my friend code to register and a few seconds later, he had his letter and his sword.

Hmm, I'll check with my nephew today. I know he entered a code at my daughter's DS to get inside. The Wi-Fi connection he used was his own house though since they have a wireless network, does this matter? I thought somebody mentioned using a McDonald's connection or something.

I couldn't get into Animal Crossing after owning it for a few months. Maybe I'm too used to traditional games, or didn't know enough people online at the same time to check out other towns, etc. Collecting virtual items felt kinda boring since I've given up a lot of my collecting of toys, and even comics. I just buy what I love to read.
