No there won't. The White House will demand that the refreshments be foie gras, trans-fat fries, and beer, and the Democratic leadership will be offering sprouts and organic carrot juice. Little did you know, THAT is what causes the shutdown. :D

An adequate study into American political history will reveal to you that this is what the framers intended. Thus, the creation of the checks and balances. Just because your party destroyed that concept for the past 6 years doesn't mean it shouldn't come back.

Now if the Libertarians can just get their shit together, maybe a third party can crack through the floorboards and become a true threat to both.

My shakespeare professor was all dressed in blue and pretty jovial today, expecting that we junior and senior college students would be informed on what happened yesterday. When his references to the election didn't get much of a reaction (myself and one other guy chuckled), he asked for the people who either watched/read the news yesterday or at least knew the outcome of the election to raise their hands.
Out of the 38 people in that class 2 people raised their hands. One of them was me. Professor looked pretty disgusted.

Conservatives should check and balance other conservatives, and do everything possible to keep Democrats out of power. I do worry that Americans must have been so terrified from the constant negative drumbeat of liberals that they'd actually give these clowns power again. They're very forgiving. Or very forgetful.

The question is: Does the "World" like us again?

Of course they do. After all, there are never any terrorist attacks under Democratic presidents. And 9/11 was obviously a rush job due to the anger over Bush being elected.

Riiiiight, 'cuz only the Dems were running negative campaign ads

Pull this one, it plays Hell's Bells.

And the "World" will like us again the day King George leaves office.

Literally, that very day - there will be mass celebrations the world over.

Ethan, dearest, apparently you just don't know that there comes a time
when we heed a certain call

When the world must come together as one
There are people dying
And it's time to lend a hand to life
The greatest gift of all

We can't go on
Pretending day by day
That someone, somewhere will soon make a change
We are all a part of
God's great big family
And the truth, you know love is all we need

We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me

Send them your heart
So they'll know that someone cares
And their lives will be stronger and free
As God has shown us by turning stone to bread
So we all must lend a helping hand

We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me

When you're down and out
There seems no hope at all
But if you just believe
There's no way we can fall
Well, well, well, well, let us realize
That a change will only come
When we stand together as one

We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day

Not only being wrong, but being so staunch in their stance that they are right even in light of overwhelming evidence to the contrary of their opinion.

Like those that don't believe in evolution.

Which by and large are the same people.

I actually think that this could be good for the GOP in the long run. This is the perfect time for them to re-invent themselves.

It's long past time for them to cut out the religious right and get back to their core principles. States rights, small government. I don't always agree with those principles, but at least there's intellectual merit there.

They'll be better off as a party and we'll all be better off, as a nation, when they do.

Just to see, I went back and looked at your links. Of the four you posted, two went to the same ID site that used all of the same-old same-old debunked argument about irriducible complexity, one went to an internet poll, which obviously didn't provide proof about anything except popular conceptions and the last one was another ID article that had no particular evidence for or against evolution (it spoke mainly about the origin of life).

Wow. Still spinning, eh? You seriously never even read any of the dozens of responses you got did you? No one ever dismissed anyone because of their religious belief. No one. The website you linked to was propaganda crap (it mentioned at the very top who paid for it) and the "scientist" you mentioned had never been published in any actual scietific journal nor was his "work" peer reviewed.
