Go on, now! Don't be shy! We won't mock you!

Unless you say "When it's love". Then we'll have to crush you for the good of society. :)

It didn't start out that way, but the final product fits the bill pretty well.

But nothing tops Don't Stop Believing. Even though it was tainted by Laguna Beach, that song still gives me chills and hopes.

Is Beth by Kiss a power ballad?

it's not "a" power ballad, it's "THE" power ballad!!!

Beta_Ray_Bryan

Yes it is.

I'll throw one out.

"I'll see you in my dreams" by Giant.

Although I am a Def Leppard fan all the way. My favorite Def Leppard ballad would have to be "Have you ever needed someone so bad?"

As for Journey power ballad, "Faithfully" by a ton. Come on, "Open Arms" is good, but really. As for "Wheel in the sky"??? That's no ballad...

Even funnier fact. I have tickets to see Def Leppard and Journey next Friday in New Orleans. Good times coming up.

As for KISS, I wouldn't consider "Beth" a power ballad, seeing as there's no power chords or distorted guitars in it, 1989's "Forever" (co-written by Michael Bolton?!) is a better example.

My fave KISS ballad (although there's certainly a case to be made that it's a rip-off of The Who's "Love Reign O'er Me") is "I Still Love You", from their Creatures Of The Night album.

Most people consider Beth to be the original power ballad.
I'd go with A Million To One as the best KISS power ballad. Killer lead from Vinnie Vincent to boot!

Good one.

"Every Time I Look At You" off Revenge, although almost diabetes-inducing with its sugary sap, is a nice one too.

The Kiss Unplugged album is one of their finest works, and nearly all of their best ballady and other songs are rendered beautifully on it. "Goin' Blind" and "See You Tonight" are amazing from it.

Even non-Kiss fans would like that CD.
