Edit: NOT PREGNANT!

:hulk:

I just applied for a Texas driver's license. I won't get a valid photo ID license in the mail for three fucking weeks! I have a slip of paper with my name on it as a temp. license.

can you get a state issued id at the DMV or does that have to be mailed to you as well?

really? that sucks...

You don't have an older liscense? If you have an old liscense that's not valid anymore...I'd keep it...show people the temp liscense to show you applied for the new one...and show them the old liscense as proof of age and stuff.

Yeah, that's how I did it when I turned 21.
I had to surrender my Maryland license to get my Texas slip of paper.

Seriously..that's what I did when my liscense expired and had to renew...then immeadiatly had to fly to Minnesota...I kept my old liscense and the paper one with me at all time. Most people excepted that....especially the place I had to get a car rental place.

I could have kept my MD license, but that'd mean I'd have to take a driving and written test for my Texas license.

I can't be sure that you're not trying to take advantage of me either.

The worst part is that I volunteered at the city library recently, only they need to do an FBI background check on me because I've lived outside of the state of TX in the past 10 years. The background check requires a fingerprint, and the fingerprint requires a valid fucking photo ID. Not being a native Texan carries a certain stigma.

That expired 10 years ago.

Don't sweat it. You're a nice young lady (I assume) just get some of these fellas to buy you drinks. It'll be a vacation.

Also, this thread reminded me that my ID expired on my birthday...

Well you won't need ID up in my hotel room hot stuff. *

Actually yeah, as a former bartender I can tell you unequivocally that an expired passport is fine for drinkage. No need for anything else.

Wait. They just took a Post it, wrote "Lauri" on it, handed it to you and said "Now you can drive!"?

That...that makes no sense.

So it probably won't matter if it's expired as long as it has a photo on it?
I'll be amused if a pic of me as a sophomore in high school allows me to drink.

It's a rather large piece of paper for a license. It has my name, DOB, signature, physical description and all the legal driving info on it. I had to clip it to the receipt of application for registration that I got 3 weeks ago. Still haven't gotten that in the mail, but I have my title-wowee.

That...that makes even less sense.
I could have kept it if it was expired, I meant to say, but then the testing nonsense.
