Ain't It Cool News (http://www.aintitcool.com/node/30613?the_fx_channel_gives_brits_always_sunny_brit s_third_season) takes a break from publishing the creepy, creepy ravings (http://www.aintitcool.com/node/30606?harry_knowles_endorses_heroes_generally_and_ wants_to_save_the_cheerleader_in_particular) of morbidly obese misanthrope Harry Knowles long enough to point to this article (http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117953444.html?categoryid=14&cs=1&p=0) from Variety announcing a third season for FX's It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

The new season, due to premiere next Summer, will consist of 15 episodes! That's 5 more than season two and more than double the size of season one!

Even more, Danny DeVito has inked a long-term four-year contract with the network that calls for him to remain a regular through at least season 6 (provided the network keeps the show going that long).

This is great news, overall. I'm not entirely sold on Danny DeVito, though. I thought season one was better than season two and that DeVito's storyline came to logical conclusion at the end of this past season.

So there you go.!

I hear ya, I thought DeVito was fine if it was to draw more attention to the show (it did), but I don't think they really need him going forward. He was funny, the show was just too much about him a lot of the times.

But this is still great news.

Maybe it was seeing that big dumb ad on Ventura Blvd. all the time this past summer, but Season 2 was really much worse than Season 1, as far as I'm concerned.

But this is still great news.Well, what's interesting, with regard to DeVito, is that once again he will film his scenes for all fifteen episodes over the course of a mere 2-3 weeks next Spring, while everyone else will work for several months on the rest of the season.

I'd expected his part in season two to seem like little more than a cameo when I'd learned that he had filmed everything in just two weeks.

YES!!!

Awesome news, especially for the 15 episode order. Now that's more like it.

Where have they moved the reruns to? I just gave the show a chance back in August (I think) and I was really enjoying the Sunday night double-shot.

Where have they moved the reruns to? I just gave the show a chance back in August (I think) and I was really enjoying the Sunday night double-shot.Since there are only 17 episodes so far, they don't get aired regularly. It will come back at some point, though.
