I love a lot of the "hot" artists that get put on high-profile titles and get paired with equally "hot" writers BUT I really enjoy those artists who don't necessarily get the spotlight shone on them as much.
If I was a comic writer and had enough pull to pick my own collaborators these are some of the artists who I would request to work with me on monthly on-going projects (most of them can meet a reasonable monthly schedule/deadline which is another reason I appreciate them).
They are:
Leonard Kirk - check out his outstanding work on Agents of Atlas and Bloodhound
Marcos Martin - Doctor Strange mini with BKV and DC's Breach
Scott Kolins - Flash run with Geoff Johns, Earth's Mightiest, Thor: Blood Oath, Beyond, MTU, and upcoming Omega Flight with Oeming
Tom Grummett - Thunderbolts
Paul Pelletier - Exiles
Patrick Gleason - Green Lantern Corps, Aquaman
Cliff Chiang - Human Target, recent Spectre mini
Doug Mahnke - Stormwatch PHD, JLA
I know I could count on any of the above mentioned to bring to life any stories I turned out with on a regular basis and it would look good.
