Coworkers were making noises about ordering it (PS2 version) this morning... I really have no clue when anything's coming out though... I suppose I'll ask about.

I hear tell from the coworkers who went searching for Gears of War that the local retailers aren't selling it till after 7pm....

...wtf?

our local stores are telling us it SHIPS today but that they won't have it until tomorrow. they might be spinning a line too, though.

I just played Tonight, I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight, and at the end, the drummer exploded.

*quiver*

Stared at it longingly at Target just now. Kept telling myself I'd playit on the 360. It wasn't working. So I reminded myself I'm barely 5% through Bully and 2 hours into FF12. I have Gears of War arriving later this week and Call of Duty 3 tomorrow. I'm safe from GH2... for now.

Yeah apparently gears is coming out at 7pm tonight at EB and Gamestop(spot? I can never fucking remember) only! A special early release. Everyone else gets it tomorrow including: CompUSA, Fry's. Circuit City, and Best Buy (not that I looked into it today or anything).

Gamestop is the crappy store, I believe, whereas Gamespot is the crappy website.

You know what's worse than visiting a Gamestop or EB in Los Angeles where everyone working behind the counter wants to be in the game industry?

Visiting a Gamestop or EB in Atlanta where everyone working behind the counter thinks they ARE in the game industry.

There are stores where that doesn't happen? I've given up on going to those places. The website is right quick in delivering.

Went to the EB in Marina, they oreder 45 copies OVER their pre-orders. Unheard of for an EB, I know. Waited in line for about 80 minutes, I have my copy of Gears that I will be playing later tonight once my wife goes to bed.

That is downed right stunning for an EB. The EB in Redmond, fucking Redmond, doesn't seem to order any copies past the preorders. This is the town where Serenity was a huge box office draw, where the game store for pen and paper rpgs was packed, where people in line for movies are playing their DSs, and they only order the preorders.

Funny story:

I was waiting in line for Gears with some peeps from work, and I was asked if I had played any Guitar Hero yet, and my honest answer was, "Yes. I've played 1 Guitar Hero I song, and 2 Guitar Hero II songs." They sat there in silence looking at me as if I was from another planet.

I'm convinced, ala GTA, that when it comes out for 360 there will be a bundled version of GH and GH II. That will be the version I play.

They've been asking me to preorder already-released games every time I go in.

They're in need of a good solid curbing.

I played it nonstop after work last night. Oh MAN, what a fun game.

Favorite tracks so far are War Pigs, Message in a Bottle (!), Can't You Hear Me Knockin', Trogdor, Thunderhorse, Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight, and the Stooges song.

I've already decided to get it, just as soon as I bring my checkbook to work... which was going to be today, but apparently I left it at home.

Ooo...

That would probably work better than my Red Octane contact who, now that he's got his Nintendo swag, no longer replies to my e-mails.

The Freezepop song in this version is WAY better than "Let's Get Ready 2 Rokk". I think it's called "Less Talk More Rock". It's awesome.
