November 7, 2006 - Kirsten Dunst will star in a new supernatural thriller, a genre first for the actress since her role in Interview With the Vampire, based on the A.N. Wilson novel A Jealous Ghost which has been picked up by Paramount Vantage. Dunst, according to the Hollywood Reporter, will also produce the movie along with Film 360.

The screenplay is being penned by writer Megan Holley who is reportedly taking some liberties with the story. Holley's take varies from the novel, which is written in third-person omniscient, dropping certain elements while creating new characters and story points. Dunst will play a young woman studying in London who, when she becomes romantically involved with one of her professors, begins seeing evil spirits.

THR explains that 360's Ben Forkner discovered the book, which was published in 2005, while in London last year. He instantly envisioned Dunst, who has said she'd like to start in a dark psychological thriller like The Shining or Roman Polanski's Repulsion, in the lead role.

Dunst, who can be seen in theaters now in Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette, will next star in Spider-Man 3. She has also been linked to an untitled film about relief worker Marla Ruzicka.

I'm in.

Then again, I would watch a four-hour epic of her doing nothing but brushing those cute, crooked little teeth.
