is this story just like the JLA The Nail?

from the summery of it, it seems to have some similarities.

This is a series that I will be "waiting on the trade" for. I want to read it, but I can wait until it is all out.

I don't think the idea for the story is exactly the most original. It's been a common time travel story.

I bet it doesn't have anythign as weird as The nail's version of Krypto.

I too will be waiting for the trade, but without quotation marks.

Sweet! I have only waited for the trade once and it was for Marvel Zombies. I just felt I needed to put the quotes there this time.

It's like the Nail, but minus Alan Davis and add JMS. Not a good formula, if you ask me.

It's not like the Nail at all. In the Nail, only one thing was different - the nail. In Bullet Points, tons of things are different.

Like Homer going back in time to the age of dinosaurs and killing a mosquito and changing all of the future? The idea isnt original at all.

They are both about one thing that changes the history we know. Not when you hear JMS describe the plot. It's not just that the super soldier serum scientist doesn't get shot. It's also that Ben Parker has a completely different job. SHIELD's completely different, etc. etc.

Like Homer going back in time to the age of dinosaurs and killing a mosquito and changing all of the future? The idea isnt original at all.It wasn't original when Bradbury wrote The Sound of Thunder. The appeal of this kind of story is not in the originality of the concept. It's in the choice of the change and how it ends up affecting things later.

Not when you hear JMS describe the plot. It's not just that the super soldier serum scientist doesn't get shot. It's also that Ben Parker has a completely different job. SHIELD's completely different, etc. etc.but it comes from one particular cause.

Sorry, but since Davis is my favorite artist that argument holds little water with me. :-P

Looking forward to it (though JMS has been on a slippery slope lately). I'm a sucker for this kinda thing.

I think The Nail comparison is a good one, the concept goes back to the old nursery rhyme "For Want Of A Nail".

Hopefully it's better than "Another Nail"... talk about a disappointing sequel...

Guys, its not like the Nail is that original at all. I mean, there were tons of What Ifs, and "Imaginary Stories" before it.

How is that different from any other "what if" type scenario?

A Sound of Thunder.

True. Although the movie they made out of that.

Crappy.

So is JMS becoming the new Chuck Austen? It seems lately when his name comes up a lot of people have negative things to say about his work.
Could just be general snarkiness I suppose.

Anyway, waiting for the trade, as usual.

No, the Nail was about Superman. Isn't Bullet Points not about Superman?

Okay, it was about not Superman.
