Anybody read Death Note?

I never read manga, but I bought the first 2 volumes of Death Note after listening to a Comic Geek Speak podcast. I immediately bought the next 2 volumes and I'm enjoying it immensely.

Question to anyone who has read more than the first 2 books: Does it stay interesting? I know the story lasts about a dozen volumes, and I find it hard to believe they can keep up this duel between L and Light for that long.

i lOVED it through book seven, after that i didnt care for it that much.

They mix things up halfway through and some say it doesn't recover.

It's still one of the best.

of the seven volumes in English so far, they really do, especially in vols. 5 and 6.
