You have to see this to believe it (http://adweek.blogs.com/adfreak/2006/11/how_bank_of_ame.html). Ricky Gervais couldn't have imagined a more mortifying scenario.

The ironic thing is the bank manager has a damn good singing voice.

Video won't work for me. What happens? Any monsters pop out? It's some kind of Bank of America employee function celebrating the merger between Bank of America and mbna. During it, two bank managers, wearing white shirts and ties get on stage and sing (complete with overwrought groans and moans and Bono-esque emoting) U2's "One", with lyrics altered to humorlessly reflect the benefits of the merger.

It's train wreck compelling.

I can't believe they got a standing ovation for this instead of an awkward silence!

I wish someone threw a pair of panties at him at the end.

I can't believe they got a standing ovation for this instead of an awkward silence!Corporate offices tend to be very conformist. Rather than responding honestly, I probably would have applauded too, just because doing so would have made it all go away more quickly.

That just about summs it up, yeah.
