I've yet to be impressed by Blue Devil. Ragman was great in this book though.

I was a big fan of BD back in the day, he was one of the few, if not the only superhero books at the time with a sense of humor. I really only dig him out of pure nostalgia, and I'm happy to see him used.

BLAH BLAH BLAH!

He was neither very devilish, or blue for that matter. I say he gets killed by a rabbit in the next issue.

Agreed.

And on a side note, for the longest time when I would see your screen name I would think "Ragman". :)

Detective Chimp is the MAN.

The fact that he's an alcoholic makes it so much better! :)

Oh, and I was a bit leary when I first heard about it, but I don't think Jean Loring as the new Eclipso will be a bad thing. If they do it right, I think it can be really interesting.

So glad I bought this series. Willingham knocked out a great part 1.The whole thing had a fitting VERTIGO feel to it.

What I love about this uber DCU plot that began with Graduation Day and ID Crisis, is the payoffs for longtime DC fans like me.

Ragman hasn't been this good since the 70's.

Great cameos by so many 2nd and 3rd tier characters in the bar.
I don't know how many marvel zombies will apreciate the Dr Occult, Black Orchid, and Animal Man/Vixen moments, but they made me smile.

DC did the same thing with CRISIS ON INIFINITE EARTHS, basically trusting that newbies will follow the main story, while DC nuts are digging the silent fighting moments of many of their favorite forgotten characters.
