Previews are doing everything they can to talk me out of seeing this. It looks awful.

Pass. I don't think Dunst can carry it. Also, it reminds me a lot of Resse Witherspoon's recent version of Vanity Fair.

the commercials say it's based on a true story.

Wasn't there also a rumor that Dunst boobies make a cameo?

Kirstin "kill off Spidey" Dunst? Let her eat suggestive noun.

That would be a deciding factor. Perky Dunst boobs are worth 9 jr bacon cheeseburgers.

I like the whole Vivien Westwood / 1970s Seditionaries aesthetic to it, plus its theme song is Gang of Four's "Natural's Not In It." So, on a purely superficial level I'm attracted to the movie.

However, the subject matter itself and the content of the movie don't seem too terribly interesting. Then again, that might be the point.

Dunst shows off the hoots in it?

Really?

Nice.

I read somewhere that French movie critics booed this movie at some film festival becuase Marie was being played by an American...

Cannes. It was also expected to be better because Sophia Coppola directed it.

At least they forego trying to dish out a silly accent. The actors speak in their normal American tongue.

I'm interested, but there's fourteen or fifteen things I'd rather see right now, and just haven't gotten to.

Yeah. I like the idea of them using American toungue than trying to fake a french/german/english accent which is insaley lame.

Agreed.

But this is a rental for me. And I love Dunst.

Me, too. But I have never actually seen one in the theatre.

I'm interested. I like its anachronistic approach to the subject. But I don't expect too much food for thought.

SPOILER...

Movie ends with her going to prison from what I've read, so you're not going to see that. Dunst joking said they could do a sequel all about her time in prison.
