Well, you're right that these boards seem empty of people. Since I'm currently reading only Marc's Manhunter, that's all I can talk about.
I've to say that I enjoy the first issues of the book more than the last few. That does not mean they're no good. Far away from that. But the first issues was a more enjoyable read because we were introduced to a new heroine. The way Marc wrote Kate was simply put awesome. She was a family woman, she has a child, she is a lawyer, and she "suddenly" decides to become a superhero. I like her motivation, and I think most readers can identify with them.
From the very start I was comparing this book to Daredevil, and although there are some differences, in the end I think that Manhunter is a modern adaptation of Daredevil, without the blinding and the metaphysical powers of course. And I like this, to be honest. I'm curious to see what other fans think about that.
I also like the fact that she is confronted with tragedy every once in a while. Her relationship with her son is something Marc has a great handle of. Her ex-husband is also someone I enjoy to read. And then her ever loving "sidekick." The characters rule! Kate's not Wonder Woman, as one might even realize after he reads her cursing. And killing. In the uniform of the Manhunter she's not a lawyer anymore: She's your judge and executioner.
Now to come back to that thing about not liking the last couple of issues as much as the first ones: I can't imagine Hawkman, Superman et cetera testifying. I think that was far fetched, and to me it appeared to be more a parody than something I have to take serious. (Of course, they're called the funny books...) I'm more interested in the plot about somebody killing former Manhunters. And you can bet I'm looking forward to the next arc.
That's for a start, let's keep the discussion rolling... ;)

Well I am here now... refugee of the DCMB and geoffjohns boards, the former largely due to horrid trolls and little moderation, and the latter because of server nightmares, and I am one of the many manhunter fans, and hopefully more will be coming to this book soon.

you all should put your disagreements with todd macfarlane to one side and pick up marc's Sam & Twitch, still one of the best monthlies out there.
I started with Torso (w/bmb) so check that out as well.
AF.

I've been with Manhunter since #1 and I love it, I just wish I knew where Marc got all of his inspiration from! This title is superb and I'm always willing to discuss Manhunter (even with my limited knowledge of the history of the role!)
Okay, 'm rambling, but really, anyone who hasn't tried Manhunter should!
Cheers.
James.

So, I've read Manhunter #'s 1-9:
The first couple of issues I found Kate to be a little abrasive and felt the new superhero leraning the ropes thing has been done before, i just stuck around because of the pretty Jae Lee (one of my favorite artists) covers. I really liked the introduction of Dylan, he makes a fun "Q" type character. And Kate started tp soften a bit as it went on. The art, by Jesus Saiz I thought was alright and when it switched to Javier Pina (who I loved on Batman Gotham Knights) i didn't really notice. Maybe it's the Palmiotti inks.
But, I added this to my pull list and I can for sure say that I'll be sticking around for at least a couple more story arcs.

lol this thread has too may GJ.com forum refugees. Marc himself (like some of us) seem more talkative on Geoff's board...why talk about the same things in two places...?

I'm pretty much just a fan (albeit a big one) of Torso, so I don't know how much discussion I'll be doing...

I look at the numbers every month hoping to see a steady increase. Good series, tons of potential.
I'm a little behind on my Casefiles: Sam & Twitch reading though.
