Indeed. Being a Giants fan is punishment enough.

I guess, but the history and grandeur of it all makes up for it. Plus you get to have annoying fucks from Elvis country give you shit. It's all good.

No offense, but those guys are idiots. Armed guards? Yeah, I'm sure the Linc's gonna be thrilled with that fucking idea.

Yeah, and we throw snowballs at Santa and eat babies. Oh, and comics are for kids, and BIFF! POW! WHAM! Comics aren't for kids now!
Ugh... I'm so tired of lazy stories that reaffirm a bunch of old stereotypes. Why would you EVER wear the opposing team's jersey at a football game. I don't give a shit what city you're in, you'll get harrassed.

So, the Vet had a courthouse inside of it because it was just like every other stadium?

They went in a group. You're excusing them acting like assholes. It's one thing to maybe tease or mess around, but punching someone in the nose? That's inexcusable bull shit.

I just don't think behavior like this is unique to Philly.

But seriously, have they never been to a football game? This shit happens ALL THE TIME.
I can't believe the Times actually printed this nonsense like this was the first time someone on an opposing team yelled "Fuck you" to the fan of other team.

Most definitly not. Still doesn't excuse it, though.

I'm an Eagles fan, and this is bullshit. I constantly joke around with people who are Cowboys fans, Giants fans and all that shit. It's people like these assholes (The Eagles fans who do shit like that) who give us sane fans a bad name. I love the Eagles, but I'd never punch someone just because we blew a game. It's fucking stupid.

i don't know why people who like other teams even bother going. philly has a bad reputation about this shit (and it's overblown, the eagles games i've been to there's always people with other teams jerseys and they got heckled, but in a good natured way) and people always shit on us about it, and then they go and something happens to them. its like you sign up for the military and then cry about it when you're sent to iraq

Being a Giants fan, I don't have much sympathy for this kid. You fly your flag at your rival's field, you have to accept the consequences.

doing it at other stadiums isn't a reason for assault, why should it be that way in Philly?

Getting taunted and heckled is one thing. Thats all in good fun and comes with the territory, but to spit on people and punching them in the face for no good reason is crossing the line. Not to mention vandalizing a car simply because people came to do their jobs is tasteless.

I'm a Steelers fan. Pittsburgh is a huge football town, and alot of fans travel to see the team play away. When I say alot I mean like at least 1/3 of the stadium will be Steeler fans. (Just watch any of the Steeler away games and see all the people representing) I've never heard of any of our fans getting assualted or spit on at a away game, and it would make the news in Pittsburgh if it happened. So yeah that was messed up the kid got punched in the face. On the bad note once a Browns fan when to watch a Browns vs Steelers game (a big rival) at a Pittsburgh bar and got the crap beat out of him. He was in critical condition, but he was dumb enough to go to a bar. Which I don't think any one should do in visiting city. Then you are asking for trouble but not the stadium.

I kinda like Hotel California. :surrend:
Completely uncalled for, I hope the aggressors get the book thrown at 'em.
It's a freaking game. Even if the stupid people were actually on the team, it wouldn't be anymore justified. I don't care who you are or where you live. Assaulting someone simply because they rooted for the visiting team is ludicrous.
Can you imagine what things would be like if people cared as much about ending poverty, child abuse, and illiteracy as they do their local sports teams?

Boo Fucking hoo
if you wear another teams jersey at a eagles game you are gonna get harassed. If he was punched it was either provoked or the guy was a nutjob, eagles fans would not allow an eagles fan to punch a giants fan without provocation, it just doesnt work like that. there is a line.
