View Full Version : Who did you idolize as a kid?
Me and my brother were rabid devotees of this guy Mike Gartner who played for the Rangers when I was four years old. We sent him some fanmail with a little comic I drew of him scoring and we got back a couple of autographed 8 x 11s. It was pretty rockin'.

When I was really young I guess it would be Dino Ciccerelli from the old North Stars until they caught him running around outside in his underwear like a crazy man. As a younger kid and into my teenage years I was a massive Kirby Puckett fan as almost every kid up here was.

I loved that episode in which he was kidnapped and turned into the White Ranger, and I loved that he was the only one with a distinctive costume.
Even as a kid, though, I thought his Zord looked like shit whenever it came out of the jungle.

I remember as a kid, that fucking toy came out before the WR appeared on the show.
That was my first glimpse of the harsher realites of life.
