Runaways HC and beyond! (spoilers for HC vol. 1)

Man, just finished this book and it was great. It didn't appeal to me at all, possibly because it was an all ages book, but after the raves and the whedon announcement I decided to give it a chance. I do like BKV's writing and he proved his versitility with this. Anyway, I'm waiting for the OHC for vol 2, but I gotta ask,
does Alex come back? He was a great character and I really thought he was gonna be the leader for this great and I can't really imagine them without him. Course he's dead right, but sometimes dead ain't dead, so somebody's gotta tell me if they bring him back or what in vol. 2.
Runaways is really a series that was worth taking a chance on, even if it's an all ages book. I mean, Goonies was a kids movie, right? But that kicks all kinds of ass too.

Yea, you're going to want to wait and read to find out if Alex comes back. It's part of the fun. The other part is sitting around and speculating after every issue because there's a ton of cliff hangers.

But yea, this is the only book that I buy in singles, digest and Hardcover.

Honestly, the sketches were more than enough to warrant a purchase from me.

I bought this series in serialized form and was very excited when Marvel released the entire 18 issue Volume 1 in HC form, but then they ruined it by releasing Volume 2 with only 12 issues and the FCBD issue. TOTAL CASH GRAB! :D

Just kidding, looking forward to Volume 2, put in tons of extras.

That's a shame about Vol. 2. I understand re: ending Vol. 3 with the end of Vaughan's run, but there's a real thematic beauty with having the book be #1-18. Those of you who have read it know why.

Also, I love that Dog Old Lace is up there, the extras from the movie set they bust up in issue 3, and the sugar bombs. thats amazing detail.

Easily my favorite colorist. Takes so many chances in her colors, often choosing to go bright where other would douse the pages in drab. i'm actually tempted to purchase white tiger based on the fact that shes coloring it.

Yes, she's sooooo good!! And SUPER SWEET!! She pointed me in the right direction to get more ear hats and even just gave me copies of her current favourite anime (which I STILL haven't watched...this weekend, I SWEAR!!!)! She kicks ass!!!!!
