I see the image but can't hardly believe it. I wanted Kate to be Marc's toy only but Gail Simone is fairly imaginative even if her writing is a touch more superficial and flighty than his. I'm just trying to figure out who the operative next to Oracle is in the puddle.

That would be really cool to see happen.

Although that picture is really suggestive.

Yeah I agree. Pity we're loosing Kate to that 'team'.

Jesus, is this Be Obnoxious To Gail Day?

Who said you're 'loosing' anyone?

Marc is a big fan of the Birds and has been there every step of the way for this and it doesn't interfere with his book at all.

"Be Obnoxious to Gail day" is not a holiday I personally subscribe to, despite a sensory hamering I've been taking from the Greeting Card Industry of late to admit it's just as real as "Flip a Bird to John Byrne Day" or "Do the Snoopy Dance with Allan Hienberg day". It's sad how these people think they can make money out of us schilling dripping sentiments no?

Gail, you're fabulous, don't get pulled into the filth.

Besides it was obvious that Kate was tapped for the Birds of Prey since Oaracle used her during the last ours of the Infinite Crisis, so I can't boggle why anyone has their jockies in a jumble over this hoo haw?

If I remember correctly, Marc was the first one to suggest a crossover, repeatedly, starting ages ago. And he's been great on this story, helping all the way down the line.

I wouldn't have her in the book if I didn't think it would be a positive thing for her own title.

And jockies in a jumble is AWESOME.

Sorry you took it as obnoxious but it wasn't meant as a slam. I was just comparing my thoughts on writers. I don't know why but I recently started reading Birds Of Prey. I'd avoided it because the concept didn't appeal (and it still doesn't) but the dialog especially has me coming back for more.

For some of Simone's stand up schtick and a sneak peek at what Kate Spencer will be playing go to Newsarama. I've grown to like BoP more than I expected to but if Manhunter gets the same comedy treatment the other characters do I might have to drop the book.

I was thinking it was too bad Superboy punching a wall couldn't undo Dinah Drake's death after that flashback story. Am I wrong or is Black Canary unique in that she followed in the footsteps of a super-heroic mother? That's a dynamic I would have liked to see played out in a monthly. Maybe some other hero could turn out to be a legacy that way, and Kate Spencer doesn't count because Granny Phantom Lady had no hand in raising her.

The Furies were a mother and daughter superhero family too.

Looks like BoP will be a rotating cast so I don't expect Kate to be around forever.

I've always enjoy Oracle as information broker to the DCU. I think it'd be good for Kate not necessarily Manhunter to appear every so often in the other DC books too.
