I bet the big Koopa on the last level, but now I'm going through to get any of the coins I missed. Anything special after that? Or just a sense of accomplishment?

You open up all the backgrounds for the touch screen. There's a mushroom house that appears in the very beginning of world 1 once you finish the game. And each background costs a certain amount of coins.

It's really not worth it for the background, but it's worth it because they are fun to figure out how to get.

How many do you have now?

New Super Mario Brothers just came out a few months ago. It's for the Nintendo DS. I'm pretty sure that 1986 wasn't aware that this game would exist.

Anyway, collecting all the big coins will gain you one of the three completion stars on your save file. It's pretty much just a way to extend the game life. I had fun going back for the few that I missed.

He's talking about the DS game that came out at the beginning of the summer.

To answer your question...once you get all the coins you will have enough to open every extra path in the game that requires money. You will also be able to buy all of the wallpapers for the bottom screen. That's about it unfortunately.

That's right...you also get a star. There are 3 stars. One for finishing the game, one for all the coins, and one for opening all the secret paths.

Yeah, and I forgot the wallpapers. Now that we've combined our powers, I think this thread has a complete answer.

Sheesh, I was only kidding. I even had a winky guy there. I know there's a new version out.

We're like Voltron.

I like this one better than the one that I had originally imagined, which was...

Or Captain Planet.

That one.

Yeah, but instead of forming a giant robot, we form one giant, snooty response.
