No shit.
There is a pool with mantas and bonnethead sharks (looks like a small hammerhead) and you can put your hands in the water and they will come to your hand and you can pet them.

The CNN cameras were shooting it the whole time because the mantas are in it and they keep showing the live shots of Mantas there everytime they mention Steve Irwin on the news.

I never pet a shark before, so that was nice.

you're a braver man than I, David Mack. You couldn't get me to touch a shark if there was a hundred bucks in it for me.

Sandpapery, yes?

The tail is rough but the middle sections of it were surprisingly fairly soft.

That's cool. I got to pet & feed a dolphin when I was a kid, but that's not nearly as cool as a shark.

Someone should notify CNN that Steve Irwin was killed by a sting ray.

Damnit, now I have to go to the ATL aquarium. I'm petting one of those fuckers before I die.

I love the aquarium, any one will do for me.

I volunteered at the Vancouver Aquarium for 2 years, tkaing kids on school tours, it was a blast.

The ATL aquarium is well-done. Nice displays, good themes, beautiful tanks. Especially loved the massive whale shark tank. We watched those things for a good hour.

When I was a kid a petted a shark at an aquarium in Key West. It was a small nurse Shark, and the handler caught it and held it so the kids could all get a good look and pet it. Felt like sand paper.

He also put a big horseshoe crap on my head. The guy was really fun, that was a great school trip. :)

Yeah, the Aquarium is pretty sweet. Except for the River exhibit which looks like a Red Lobster.

So when I was little, I went to this aquarium and they had this whole stupid fucking exhibit where they show you animals in the sea and below, the burns and rashes and scars they can give you. I was so freaked out by this (they took us here on an elementary school field trip) that I've been scared of bodies of water (though I muscle through cuz swimming is awesome) and leery of aquariums ever since.

Yeah, they have 4 huge Whale Sharks.
In a tank with other fish and hammerhead sharks.

I noticed one of the Whale Sharks was missing half its front fin and it looked like it was bitten off.
I wondered if the Hammerhead bit it.

Also they had 4 whales which here incredible.

The Whale Sharks are HUGE.

The Long Beach Aquarium in California also has a petting tank for sting rays and sharks.

That slimey coating on their bodies is actually mucus they excrete that helps them heal bite wounds and whatnot. Mack has boogers on his hand!!!

fish are cool.
