I'm glad I picked this up. Really strong first issue, the older hispanic detective is a great lead protagonist. I think the pages with sparse dialogue and the religious imagery worked really well. The scene with the mother was uncomfortable (in a good way) and the ending was particularly spooky. Art was fantastic, as always. I'll be back for more.

Got Mines, very nice stuff, you can definitely see Mike's passion in this and big props to Nick Filardi on the amazing Colors.

I really liked this! Great first issue Michal. Great dynamic going on with the religious themes blending into the darker, violent imagery.

I thought it was great. So far, it could almost be called:
POWERS!: The Cross Bronx

It is very cinematic. I can almost see each scene in my head as film rather than a comic.

Bought it from you guys in baltimore then went to my shop today and realized I ordered a copy from them. So I gave my 2nd one away to one of the guys playing Magic in the back. Good solid first issue, has me intrigued.

The book did one thing right - LEFT ME WANTING MORE!

Mike the art is gorgeous, all angular and more minimal than usual. A bit of shift in style and seemed more apparent as the pages went by. Fits the tone.

The scene stealer is Filardi. I don't think it's fair to call him just a colorist in this case. Really exceptional work. Given his other titles, is this dude ready for an Eisner? Do they award colorists Eisners? Well they should if they dont.

The set-up was crisp and I got good sense of two things; Ortiz is beat, weary, seen too much, done it all - until now, and you wonder if he has enough in the tank to do this. Second the anger of the victim's mother. That creep ol' bitch is all bloodshot eyes and seething rage.

Great start Mike/Ivan/Nick!

Hey Mike, I think all the hype marketing worked on me, because I heard some podcast interview you did (I think it was those Around Comics guys) and you got me intrigued for Cross Bronx.

I'm in and really dug it. Your story-telling is top notch. The old woman freaked me the fuck out, and this was a damn comic book.
