Out of my comics for this week this was the first one I read and I am soooo glad I did! Great action this issue with a little flashback to the backstory. Spot on job. Good ending and bring on issue #4.

I'm really gonna miss this series when it's over.

One question though. This Asteroth character. I'm not sure where I've seen her before or if I've seen her before. Should I know who she is?

I'm not sure who Asteroth is either. I don't know if she's been in 616 as of yet. I'm certain I've seen the name in some branch of mythology, but the only thing I can really remember is the Soul Caliber 2 character. Seeing this Asteroth nuked a herald in 2 seconds or less tells me she's gonna leave a mark.

Liked this issue a LOT! Bill and Skuttlebutt's banter was interesting, it was playful but at the same time aware of how much was at stake. They had a real battle bond showing, especially for two constructs.

I LOVE this book.
Actually, what I meant to say was: I heart Beta Ray Bill.
Hopefully, when Thor is eventually resurrected, Marvel will get back to involving him in this sort of epic smack-down.
In the meantime... Any chance of Ultimate Beta Ray Bill?

Asteroth, like Stardust, is a new character for Marvel. She's a real bitch, a character of chaos. Lets see what happens next:)

I'll be reading my copy tonite and can't wait. This is a really well done story and it is nice to know that for some projects, Marvel will let the creators play in their own area of the MU and not have a forced tie in or crossover.

I've been jaded by what I deemed massive failures in either the hype department or overall quality of Marvel's minis with books like The Truth, Ultimate War, Secret War, X-Men: The End...for me none of them were remotely good stories and I've dumped all of them off. (Secret War was good, but the time is just too long for me and Del'Otto, while very good, isn't yet an artist who deserves a break like this on getting the boks done. Linsner, etc are old vets now and we're used to it.)

But this mini has brought a smile to my face since page one of #1.

Michael, I was wonderng about the shared writting credit. What is that break-down like. Do you do split up the plotting and scripting or is it that one or the other of you does the dialogue?
What's up with that?

Thanks much man, I do appreciate it. Its nice to get the love:) I have another mini coming out this summer from Marvel, so it wont end with Bill. Hopefully we'll get to see more of Bill in the future, after you see where this mini goes.

We ping-pong the script back and forth. We start with the ouline, then a page breakdown then we start the script, about four stages of back and fourth. Its great becuase stuff Im having trouble with, I just pass on to Dan and he takes care of it, then it suddenly comes alive for me and I can do something with it. And same for Dan.

From what I've seen so far, I'd say it's a formula that works!

thanks, Mike and I really work well together this way. It tends to open a lot of creative paths that neither of us would have gone down alone.

Really cool! I'm guessing that since it is into the summer that this next project is coming out, you can't say the character or artist that you'll be working on/with? We'll find out eventually I'm sure.

I finally read mine last night and....this is aces in my book. The sheer power displayed by Bill and Stormbreaker is something to behold and is really given respect thru your and Andrea's work. The herald has been interesting as a baddie, but I'm waiting for more of the big poppa, Galactus. There hasn't been a "slow" issue of this mini yet.

What an amazing issue, this is one of the best minis of the year so far definitely. I like the design of this new Asteroth character as well, and I liked Stardust's design too but uh, well you know. I thought it was cool how Stardust came back all blue after getting smacked upside his head with Stormbreaker. It was like his blue energy form was a higher power level or something, very Dragonball-esque. Can't wait to see Bill knock out some of Galactus' teeth with the hammer (or something equally cool).

You know I don't really enjoy cosmic stories all that much because they generally introduce the same kind of generic character. But I really (dis)like Stardust. Hell I thought this mini was almost over and it is only the 3rd issue. There is still 3 more issues to go. Lots of story left.

Im glad your digging- it would be fun to see Bill knock out some of G's teeth. Maybe he can get flava flave gold teeth to replace.

I do believe Stardust is an orginal character. As is Asteroth at the end of issue #3.

I love that Stardust is really alien-looking. You know? Not just a human body with a weird head or strand skin color. That's cool to me.

This is one of my favorite books out right now, it just possibly can't get any better than that freakin AWESOME fight between Beta and Stardust, and Beta Ray Bill, after all that hot air Stardust was blowin out, simply saying "Bring it, then!" while holding Stormbreaker....oh my GOD i got chills in places i didn't know i had

overall rating for this issue: 5 out of 5

overall rating for this series(so far, but come on, its set in stone that its just gonna get better): 10 outta 10 baby!! :D
