I was supposed to find out today if I got a new job at a newspaper, but they haven't called.

Should I call and ask if I got it?

Normally, I wouldn't be asking something like this, but I really need this job.......

Hey, it shows you're interested. I don't think it'd hurt. When you call tell whoever that you're following up on your interview; don't just ask if you got the job.

That's what I was hoping for.

But, I didn't want to come off as too eager.

Like I said-- I really need this job....
