For the past two years he's done a lottery at the SDCC. You enter, you might win. Regularly, yes, the list does fill up instantaneously. And he takes a LOT more names than he ever gets to (as low as 3 out of 50 sometimes) and cherry picks the characters he feels like sketching. It's totally worth the effort, tho':

And they just announced on his Yahoo Group that con sketches will now be $200 each. Makes sense since so many other artists who put so much less in to their pieces were charging the same or even more than Adam.

No, mine is like what he does normally at cons. Pencils, inks, marker tones. The full boat. I saw him knock 15 or so of these out over a two-day period. That was a fun show, and an extremely productive one for him.

Got it back in 96 at a small comic show in New Orleans. We managed to sneak in early (purely on accident.. there just wasnt anyone at the door) and I asked. He said sure but asked that I please not show it off because he wasnt planning on doing a bunch of sketches...

I've talked to him at every con I've attended (Heroes and Dragon). I could never get a sketch, but he retains a good humor in conversation. He was giving his sketchbook profits to Katrina charities at the last DragonCon, and we chatted about Lost for a bit.

I got one at Mid-Ohio 2004, after trying for a couple of years.

Got mine at this year's ECCC in Seattle. This was $100, before Adam upped the price on his sketches.
