The one issue I have with the series so far, aside from minor quibbles and complaints, is the treatment/return of the mighty Thor. Oeming ended the series on such a great note and tied the series off nicely. We all knew that the character would return, eventually, but I really had hoped that Marvel would take this chance to do something different with him. Maybe have him come back with a new design and interesting take on the character that would bring him into the new millenium. I really wished something in the vein of 1602's Thor. (Seen below)

He is a great character and I can't imagine the Marvel Universe without him but he is badly in need of an update of some kind; of all the original heroes he has faired the worst in terms of being relevant/aging well. I would of loved to have seen a story that was epic in scope and featured his return, but instead we have a few pages and there he is. It all just seems lacking to me.

EDIT: I also understand that no one has to 'full story' as to what's happening in the series and that we have seen very little so far. I just wanted to add that before anyone accuses me of not knowing what's going to happen :D

I agree to an extent. I don't want to say much because we've only seen a few pages with the guy in it, but I was hoping to see him return in a story that was closer to Nordic mythology. The books I have of Nordic myths both begin with the story of Ragnarok... I thought it would have been a great beginning to an all new Thor mythos. So far it's just a big ass guy with a hammer.

I was really hoping Oeming would be the one to bring him back in a mini that would precede Civil War. Oh well.....

I have a feeling that might not be the version of the character we'll be seeing for the foreseeable future.
