Ultimates never should have been solicited as early as it was (they had it coming out the first week of August, WTF?) in the first place.

At least they seem to be holding back on soliciting Ultimates #13...

And Civil War being delayed is very bad, cos it can (as we are already seeing) cause large amounts of the Marvel line to be forced into delays. Marvel may have to use fill-in art to make sure it stays on time, which would suck. [See Infinite Crisis if you don't believe it'd suck at least a bit.]

Could it be Millar's fault? As far as I'm aware McNiven is almost never late, but Millar has been once and a while.

It's so sad that these books are so interconnected, that delaying Civil War 4 forces Marvel to delay half of their titles for the month of August. I guess whatever happens in Civil War 4 is pretty important. Didn't they solicit it as someone dying? I'm hoping this was just a last minute art/story change that forced Millar and McNiven to redo some stuff, otherwise we're in for some massive delays for Civil War books in the coming months or more likely some fillin art in a future Civil War issue.

Brr.... that's scary.

I'd much rather have Civil War be two months late an issue than go through the fill in hell that was IC....

12 ended up being huge, which accounted for the delay. Hitch doesn't even have the script for 13 yet, as Millar's health and his constant rewriting of Civil War have left him without time to do it yet...so who knows when that'll be done.

JoeE

I also noticed Ex Machina was delayed again...I hope Harris' new style for the book isn't a harbinger of perpetual lateness.

I know Millar has put Ultimates aside to focus on Civil War, so hopefully that at least means he's getting Civil War done as fast as possible... I imagine Marvel are pushing him to focus on that, since lateness on the Ultimates is pretty much par for the course anyway.

And #13 technically isn't late anyway, since it hasn't even been solicited. Once #12 comes out, Ultimates will be on schedule for the first time in ages...!

That's annoying that they're now adding ads to Civil War Fronline. I can't wait to see the backpeddle on this.

Since you're still getting the same amount of story pages for the same price, I doubt they'll feel the need to backpedal too hard... "No ads" wasn't that big a selling point was it? And only 8 pages of ads is actually very light by comic standards.

I don't even remember the no ads thing being mentioned when they annoucned the series. To be honest I rarely even notice when a comic has no ads or for that matter when it has more ads than usual (well a couple of months last year where Marvel books had as many ad pages as story pages were kind of annoying). As long as the price doesn't go up, I don't really care

How do you know there is no excuse? Do you actually know WHY it is delayed?
