For one, I didn't even think UGO was even around anymore, but it's still an interesting move...

Dedicated followers of DC Comics’ weekly comic book series 52 will need to look no further than their Web browser to catch up on the fastest-paced series in superhero comics. Entertainment website UGO.com will be premiering the first five issues of the landmark series, viewable for free as a Flash presentation.

“It’s the first five issues in their entirety,” says UGO editor Chris Radtke. “We’re going to be rolling out an issue a week for the next five weeks, so today kicks off issue one.”

“There’s also a ‘Who’s Who’ of the main characters,” Radtke explains, “and as the story progresses, we’ll add to that as well.”

UGO hopes the character notes will help to make the comic accessible to those members its readership who aren’t currently reading DC Comics.

UGO’s arrangement with DC currently covers only issues one through five of the series, though Radtke says that UGO would definitely be interested in continuing to post back issues of the series with DC’s consent.

“We would love to,” Radtke says, “but the ball is totally in DC’s court.”
