...apparently premieres tonight on SciFi.

Anybody gonna watch it?

Piechuck
07-27-2006, 04:43 PM
It looks bad. I took out season 1 of Battlestar Galactica from the library, so I'm going to give that a shot.

I gotta beat that game.

Ok, this show really REALLY looks ridiculous.

I was worried that this show would be campy and over the top when I first heard about it.

It's exceeded my expectations.

Evan Wiener
07-27-2006, 05:14 PM
This is such a fucking train wreck, how could you NOT watch!? I love Stan Lee, but man, this is bad. I almost wish he wasn't attached to this mess, but then I probably wouldn't have tuned it. :)

JMP
07-27-2006, 05:15 PM
I wanna know what that guy's arm cannon made of plastic and tin foil does......

Ryan Elliott
07-27-2006, 05:15 PM
I love it. I laugh when they act ridiculous. Pretty much only watching it for Stan.

I'm pretty much only watching the first episode, and if it catches me I might catch the others.

Evan Wiener
07-27-2006, 05:17 PM
I hope Stan got a good check out of this from the tools who produced this. :)

Evan Wiener
07-27-2006, 05:18 PM
Cell Phone girl is the traitor! I'm calling it!

Briomega
07-27-2006, 05:18 PM

EximiusVir
07-27-2006, 05:25 PM

Evan the Shaggy
07-27-2006, 05:25 PM
LOL! He's gotta throw his costume away into the garbage can! Oh man, too priceless.

Ryan Elliott
07-27-2006, 05:25 PM
Haha! This is great.

And it's already better then over half the reality shows on tv.

Evan Wiener
07-27-2006, 05:26 PM
Superheroes are NOT for profit! :)

Isn't "superhero" co-owned my Marvel & DC? How'd they get to use that term?

Briomega
07-27-2006, 05:27 PM
So profiting is worse than killing? :o

JMP
07-27-2006, 05:28 PM

Ryan Elliott
07-27-2006, 05:37 PM

Did he or did he just run by a place that looked like it thinking that she was just standing there?

JMP
07-27-2006, 05:38 PM
Fat Mama's "power sources" are falling off her belt as she runs

Ryan Elliott
07-27-2006, 05:38 PM
Now it's getting funny.

Briomega
07-27-2006, 05:39 PM

It's more entertianing than I thought it would be, but of course it's undeniably corny in places.

Anyone getting the feeling it's rigged? Not that these people aren't really the Joe Schmoes they claim to be, but that the show is telling them what to do at certain point, maybe?

Oh Lord. I said you couldn't pay me to watch this, yet I can't look away. I Looooooove Major Victory! He's my pick to win it all bet on it. This show is so crappy it's great. Although, would he have to change his name when he wins since there is a Major Victory in both Marvel and DC? Fat Momma is good. Lemuria looks like she'll pop out any time (Please?).

Hey, now. In all fairness to my creepy ass, I have never expressed perviness towards a fictional girl under the age of 15, or a real girl under the age of 18. I'm hardly Michael Jackson here. Credit where credit's due. :)

And I was thinking more in the vein of "The Right Hook"

Truth, justice, and the neocon way! Smashing puny liberals whereever he goes! Look! On top of the FOX New Blimp! It's Red State America's favorite hero.....the Right Hook!

Not really. I have some serious designs in mind.

I've been home sick from work all day, so I ventured out to watch some tv (before that, I was watching eps of Angel when I wasn't passed out). This show was coming on, so I figured why not.

Anyway, it was ok. The thing I really liked best was seeing Stan Lee. Other than that, eh. Interesting, but I don't know if I'll be watching again. If I'm home with nothing to do maybe. But, I won't seek it out.

Ryan Elliott
07-27-2006, 06:31 PM

Elijya

It's weird that Nitro G basically lost for changing in public. It looked like Creature changed in a small trash can which seemed even more public to me than Nitro's place. Did Creature stop for the kid? I forget.

Nope. Yeah, I really think the cyborg wannabe/asshole should have gone. Besides the fact that he's a complete dick with a stupid costume he was in the running to leave twice on the first show. I still say Major Victory will win.

Gavin

I want Major Victory to win. That guy had all the right spirit. And he had the moves. If he doesn't win I want Feedback to. He has the motivation from a deceased parent. I thought Iron Enforcer should have been booted off.

yeah, he definitely seems to be the guy in the group who's got it together the most. The way he talks about his relationship to comics and superheroes - he gets them, he relates to them on a deeper level, I think, beyond the basic juvenile power fantasy that's the basis of the superhero formula, but he's not pretentious about it. He's there to have fun, but he's not a goofball, I think.

That being said, I don't really care for the name Feedback, and the video game angle's weak. His character's not very iconic so far.

I just watched it while working on a project.

It wasn't that bad.

It seems to me to be about these goofy people having a task to complete and keeping the "big picture" of being a superhero in mind. I thought some of the contestants are having fun.

In all honesty... I just can't see going back to work after the show and being taken seriously.

"So Mr. Johnson... you would like to be our next senator. Can you please tell me about your costume in that strange reality series back in 2006?"

"Oh that. I was having a laugh and I was only 35 years old. (Sweating and defending himself) At least it wasn't porn!"

i really liked the show and hope that they really keep to the human/helping people aspect of the show. I really hated iron inforcer though (the dude with the fake big gun and stupid arm. I hope he loses next week.

anybody watch the two shows that came on after this show ? The darkplace, and amazing screw on head ? I liked both of them too for different reasons though

I am not worried about this hurting how comics are viewed by outsiders. The only people who even know about this show are those that are hard core comic people or those who already watch sci fi enough to see the comercials. I think everything will be ok.....

I just saw this (taped it) and loved it. Yeah, it's cheesy, but it's entertaining as hell. I love this the same way as Adam West Batman and that's saying a lot.

Top three: Lemuria, Major Victory, and Feedback. Actually Feedback is kind of lame, but I like that he quits his job to be on the show. That's a lot of intensity. Lemuria is dreamy and Major Victory is just...wow.

I still think Lemuria is the next mole/traitor.

We didn't get too much backstory on Rotiart. Just like Lemuria.

In fairness, his name was "traitor" written backwards and he wasn't in the credits. I'm thinking Lemuria might be a *bit* more legit...
