I've always thought that Garbage's song "Vow" would be perfect for Kabuki's fight with Kai in COB.
Does anyone else have any songs that they associate with Kabuki?

For Circle of Blood I usually listen to some Kitaro, although J.M. Jarre's Oxygene works well.

alchemy-- it's been the soundtrack to vision of escaflowne
circle of blood--crow soundtrack
meta--soundtrack to crouching tiger, hidden dragon
skin deep--wolf's rain soundtrack
yeah, i know mostly soundtrack's but they don't pull me out of the story since they're mostly instrumental :D

I think a lot of instrumental is the way to go too. But for sheer mood / atmosphere, anything by a Perfect Circle, especially eMotive. Just works.

When I was working on The Alchemy #9 I was listening to The Beatles Sgt. Pepper more than anything else.
And also the the DJ DangerMouse Gray album mash up of The Beatles White Album and Jay Z's Black album.
Also the new Thom York Eraser Album and some old Radiohead.
Also Dan Deacon and Blackalicious.

It's always hard for me to say what kind of music would fit a certain scene. It would depend on the mood I'm in while reading it, but my ideal Kabuki soundtrack would certainly include a wide variety of different kinds of music, just like there are so many different art styles in the books. After all, they are an extremely important part of what makes the series special.
