Hi.
Been a little behind on work. Sorry I haven't gotten around to answering your questions, posts, PMs, etc...

Almost caught up, and will be getting to those in a bit...

Hi Dan!

Actually, there is something I'd like to ask, as the question has been bothering me these past few days: did you ever come up with a tune for Herc's 'I Struck Him In The Head' ditty?

I'm kind of working on a She-Hulk-themed playlist. Don't Stop Me Now, Eye of the Tiger, Holding Out for a Hero, and Tubthumping, obviously, but it'd be nice to be able to hum Struck Him In The Head here and there.

The issue predated me reading by a bit, but late as it is, I should say that "And the skull of yon base felon/like an o'er-ripened melon," is a great lyric.

I know part of the reason you don't post so much is that if your scripts are running late, your editor's not gonna like seeing that you've made a ton of posts here :p:D

That's cool Dan, personally I'd rather see you write more comics than post on here, so while you're definitely missed at least we can rest in the knowledge that it's always for a good reason :)

Hi Dan!

Actually, there is something I'd like to ask, as the question has been bothering me these past few days: did you ever come up with a tune for Herc's 'I Struck Him In The Head' ditty?

Yep. And some of the people who've been (un)fortunate enough to meet me at cons and signings have had the (dis)pleasure of hearing me sing it. ( ):D .
If there's ever a SHE-HULK HC, I'd like to include the chord progression for Herc's ditty as an extra. So right there, that's as good a reason as any to (politely) bug Marvel's David Gabriel for it. ;) SHE-HULK HC! SHE-HULK HC! SHE-HULK HC!

I'm kind of working on a She-Hulk-themed playlist. Don't Stop Me Now, Eye of the Tiger, Holding Out for a Hero, and Tubthumping, obviously, but it'd be nice to be able to hum Struck Him In The Head here and there.

A She-Hulk themed playlist? Nifty! Hmm...
Well, as of SHE-HULK #10, you'll be able to add Patsy Cline's "Crazy" to the mix. 'Cause y'know, Two-Gun is partial to the works a' Miss Cline...

Thanks to iTunes and my li'l iPod, I actually have playlists for when I'm working on SHE-HULK. During the first three issues of Vol. 2 I had a lot of "time" based songs on the list. The Mr. T Experience (sometimes called MTX) song "The Future Ain't What it Used to Be"
(The future aint' what it used to be/All the same things are gonna happen to me/But they're gonna turn out differently/The future ain't what it used to be).
Other songs on that playlist included U2's "Stuck in a Moment..." and Jason Mraz's "Clockwatching."

Currently? I'm reallying digging Ookla the Mok's "Super Powers", Hanna Pakarinen's "Superhero", All American Rejects' "Move Along", and Ready Set Go's "I Hate Everyone."

But I gotta add that after listening to "I Hate Everyone", it's important (for me) to wash it down with They Might Be Giants' "New York City" (Both songs sound upbeat... but the RSG song has so many lyrics like "All the people on the street/I hate you all/And the people that I meet/I hate you all..." that I really NEED to hear TMBG sing "'Cause everyone's your friend in New York City/And everything looks beautiful when you're young and pretty" right after!)

The rest of July's playlist includes stuff like Shout Out Louds' "100 Degrees" (because of the heat here in NYC), Bare Naked Ladies' "Grade 9", Goldfinger's "If Only" (If only I was taller and had a million dollars then maybe you'd be with me/If only I was 18 with the courage of the A-Team then maybe you'd be with me) Awww...

And stuff from my THING playlist (like Ookla the Mok's "Super Powers" and "Theme from Super Skrull") have migrated over to my SHE-HULK playlist.
Seriously, if you're a comic fan, you owe it to yourself to buy Ookla the Mok's album, "Super Secret"

Some sample lyrics:

"Super Powers" (a song ABOUT superhero origins. Here's a taste...)
My best friend and my girlfriend and her brother went into space/Who'd of thought we'd get bombarded by cosmic rays?/It turns out I'm the last of a powerful alien race/My mother formed me from a lump of magic clay/I'm given superpowers by a yellow sun/I studied under the Ancient One

"Theme From Super Skrull" (exactly what it sounds like. :))
'Cause his left arm can stretch like it's made out of plastic/It's as elastic as Mr. Fantastic/His right arm has orange rocks for skin/From his shoulder down he's as strong as big Ben Grimm

"Stop Talking About Comic Books or I'll Kill You" (Hmmm...)
Stop talking about comic books or I'll kill you/I don't care if the Hulk could defeat the Man of Steel/I'm gonna rearrange your face if you continue to debate/Whether Logan's claws could pierce Steve Rogers' shield

It's all that good! :) They also have some comic based songs on some of their other albums too, like "Arthur Curry" (which's about how it sucks to be Aquaman) and "Gorilla City" (about... well... Gorilla City). Nifty.

Here's their funky cool website:

and you can LISTEN to "Super Powers" here...

So?...

What's on all of your playlists? Let's hear it, gamma-fans! :)

Wanted my first post to be giving a shout out to Dan Slott.

Heres to the best writer at Marvel, and thanks for the Spider-Man/Human Torch miniseries, it's easily one of the best Spider-Man stories in recent history.

Here are some other songs that I think should go on a She-Hulk playlist...

Anybody who remembers Savage She-Hulk #7 knows that Jen is an Eagles fan. What better song for her than "Hotel California"? Along the same theme, I think the Beach Boys' California Girls and maybe even Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers' Band's "All The Gold In California". But since she moved to NYC and made it her home, Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York" is also probably a favorite of hers...
