I just read the first trade and I am fuckin' blown away. This is the best trade I've read in a long time. What other Brian Wood am I missing?

Love this book. Can't express enough how much I enjoy it. The current arc is just unbelievable and I cannot wait to see where it ends up going.

This series gets better and better with each issue. It really is the best thing coming out of Vertigo right now.

Welcome to the club! :D It gets even better from there!
Definately check out Demo. I think it's Wood's best book so far, although DMZ is set to surpass it if it continues to be as good as it is! Also, Channel Zero and Couscous Express are really good, too.

I already have the three issues after the first trade, but I haven't read them yet. I'm really looking forward to them now. This series doesn't sound that great on paper, but man, it's incredible.

Brian Wood rules. Definitely check out Local and Supermarket. And obviously Demo if you haven't yet. All awesome stuff.

Seriously, don't wait to read them. It only gets better in Body of a Journalist.

Wood's killer. If you want something really different, try his Martial arts drama called Fight for Tomorrow with Vertigo.
THen there's Couriers, Couscous Express, and Channel Zero where he did a majority of the artwork too in his earlier works. Now he just does a page here or there in DMZ.
By far one of the best titles out today. Great concept, great execution. Reminds me of Transmetropolitan but where that title just fucks with your head in terms of science fiction concepts, DMZ gives you this sci-fi realistic underground edge.
Local and Demo and Supermarket are talked heavily here already but that's what else you're missing. He also did some Generation X stuff in the past, but definitely pick up his graphic novels where he started out because that stuff has a DMZ feel to it as well.

I read it and thought it was interesting, but felt it would be better as a mini, so I'm going to read any more. It didn't grab me enough to keep going.

Try the Pounded mini from Oni too.... it was a fun tale with some really cool Steve Rolston art.

Oooooh yeah. I read that when it came out but totally forgot about it. That was Wood?

DMZ gets even better from there, trust us. It's very intense right now.
Local and Demo are also really freaking good. If you had to start with a single Wood non-DMZ trade, Demo is collected in its entirety in a single volume.
I didn't really enjoy the first issue of Supermarket that much, so I didn't keep getting it (I know I should have faith in Brian Wood at this point, but cash is tight).
