After hearing some of Carey's plans for the book, I'm quite excited. Bachalo's art is fantastic on the solicitated covers.

I'll flip through it. I'm not sure if I can get past Sabretooth as an X-Man, though. At least Mystique has a past of working with Xavier. Hell, I'm even a fan of Juggernaut as an X-Man... but Creed? He's a cold-blooded killer. It's tough to buy, if you ask me.

i don't exactly think that sabretooth is really gonna become a real "x-man". i get that vibe that for some reason they need information or some sort of help from him, and are kinda forced into teaming up.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that Carey explicitly said this in an interview.
Sabretooth is not going to become an X-man.

Yeah, I think that's a possibility. I really like Bachalo. I kind of don't want to enjoy this. I pick up too many X-Books as it is. :-?

Ah yes, but this is like X-Factor. A buncha non-center X-folk with a tone and feel if its own. And outside of Cable, anything can happen to anyone.

i found myself being a lot more interested in it after they released the character roster.
this is a pretty good (kinda spoilery) recent interview:

But no Bishop
I'm glad. I hate Bishop. Only thing I ever liked him in was District X and his brief appearance in Morrison's New X-Men.

I actually read my LCS' preview copy today (I'll be getting it, don't worry).
If anyone wants to know, the X-Men don't track down Sabretooth.
As a matter of fact, he shows up and accepts the open call the Xavier institue put out for any mutant in need of sanctuary.

Just read the preview issue a few minytes ago.
It was easily the most continuity heavy Marvel book I've seen in a while. It just is loaded with shit from all the X-books. Older and current.
Bachalo's art wasn't as tight as I would have liked. Maybe the color is just a little too muted.
There were some fun character moments to be had.
I'm interested.

I expected as much but the confirmation has doubled my anticipation.
Its been a while since a comic (except those written by PAD) actually dealt with issues from other books

hey,do you(or anyone else)know if cable still has that teleporting bond with deadpool?I didn't know anything about it til i read it on wiki when i was doing some research. Some of the data is pretty up to date, others not so much, hence the question. And wasn't Sabertooth a "member" once already? If i remember right they wound up sticking him in a cage.X-men never learn, don't trust Sabertooth and don't trust Juggernaut! They're bad guys!!!

I'm a little sad that Mark Brooks is doing a three issue fill in instead of pure Bachalo. I mean, itll be cool to see him draw Cable again, but I never liked his stuff so much.

Did Juggernaut ever have a real motivation for being a bad-guy?
Seriously, I remember something about his dad beating him or something but beyond revenge on Xavier for somesuch and making a buck, was there ever a classic villanous origin of villany?

Not really,he's in the same vein as Emma Frost and i think he made a good believable member of the team. One Of Chuck Austens few positive contributions to the mythos.

I personally feel that 95% of all comic book villains have only a finite amount of usefulness before they just become boring and ridiculous. Once that usefulness is past they should either become a hero themselves, or die, or retire and just never be seen again. Only a handful of comic book villains have infinite usefulness without becoming boring, and most of those villains are in Batman's rogues gallery.
Juggernaut is one of the ones that really works as a good guy in my opinion. For years now I've dreamt of seeing a Juggernaut solo series, I even wrote up a pitch and some scripts for it back in '03, whenever the hell Marvel was doing that whole Epic bullshit, but by the time I was ready to send it in the whole Epic experiment was dead.

No clue, I'm not a Cable/Deadpool fan and Cable doesn't show up at all in this issue.
Sabretooth lived with the X-Men for a while after Wolverine gave him a lobotomy. But eventually his brain grew back and he tried to rape/murder Boom Boom and that was the end of that. And then he was on the governmentally sponsored X-Factor team with Forge, Mystique, Multiple Man, Wild Child etc. They had a restraining collar on him so he wouldn't get out of line. Of course, he eventually managed to take enough pain killers that he could dig the collar out of his nervous system without passing out and he then went on to fucking murder a shit ton of people and almost killed the whole team.
Generally, Marvel characters are all corruptible and/or redeemable. The villians, but for a few choices or fated moments, could have been heroes. ANd the heroes could and can easily fall to the path of villiany.
But I doubt Sabretooth will really reform. And Carey has said the team roster is going to keep changing.

I like both of those, a lot. I hope they stay with the X-Men.
