If nothing is on TV, you can usually find reruns of either Seinfeld or the Simpsons at any point in the day, which would you rather watch?

depends on the episode

Seinfeld. More episodes that really make me laugh. Simpsons is hit and miss.

The Simpsons.
Ever since Seinfeld went off air, I can't seem to be into any episode anymore. I was just telling my wife, a person that never even saw an ep of Seinfeld, that I'd cheer when it is finally done in syndication.

Well Seinfeld ended on a higher note, and since Simpsons won't stop any time soon with the crap it is producing now. My vote is Seinfeld.

Simpsons by a motherfucking mile.

I would no sooner watch an episode of Seinfeld than I would staplegun my ears to the ground and set fire to my face. I'd rather watch Big Brother, while having sex with Paris Hilton than watch that show.

So... The Simpsons :)

The Simpsons should do what Seinfeld does. Seinfeld keeps only the best episodes in syndication. It sucks, because I've never seen a lot of Seinfeld because of it, but the Simpsons would greatly benefit from this.

seinfeld - my favorite show ever

Futurama.

But of the two, Simpsons. The only thing I like about Seinfeld is Kramer.

Seinfeld, easy. Simpsons has great episodes... but also a lot of crap.

Taking a look at the poll... pretty even so far.

Seinfeld's got the Soup Nazi, Newman, Babou, and Putty. The Simpson's got Mr. Burns, Flanders, Apu, and Duffman. Yeah, I gotta go with The Simpsons on this one.

Seinfeld was a great sitcom, but it was still a sitcom. And the trappings thereof (especially the goddamn laugh track) cause it to wear a little thin after awhile. Regardless of what The Simpsons has become, it revolutionized TV animation. And I find episodes during its best period (@1994 - @2000) to be some of the most rewatchable stuff out there.

Seinfeld is the best sitcom ever.

Simpsons is the finest animated series ever.

I prefer Seinfeld, but they're both good.

it really depends on what episode is on. if it's one of the newer simpsons, or one that i've seen a million times, then i'll lean to seinfeld. if it's kickass simpsons (from the era AAl posted) then i'll watch that.

I chose Seinfeld as it hasnt been on here in a long time, whilst the Simpsons are on 3-4 times a day. Kinda seen most of the Simpsons episodes as much as i need to.

I'd rather watch the show with decent acting, not high-school-play level camera mugging where the so-called lead can barely respond to a cue at the correct time, so The Simpsons for me.

And Seinfeld is on in syndication every night around here at 11:00, seemingly running complete seasons in order. Simpsons not so much any more.

Simpsons, but Seinfeld is a close second. (And if it's a really good Seinfeld like "The Bizzaro Jerry" vs one of the sappy Lisa episodes, Seinfeld wins)

Seinfeld never reached "god, why is this crap still being produced?" status for me. Simpsons hit that level about 4 seasons ago.

Because Seinfeld has showmanship. They knew how to go out on top.

Simpsons on the other hand...

I can think of maybe one or two episodes of Simpsons which I didnt enjoy. Seinfeld has a lot more duff episodes over a smaller total amount made.

The Simpsons is occasionally amusing, but I've never gotten the appeal. Seinfeld, on the other hand, has very few subpar episodes. I don't mind the laughtrack either because the show is just that damn funny.

Same for me with Monty Python, but everywhere else laugh tracks annoy the hell outta me.

I agree. Thats mostly why I've stopped watching sitcoms. But for some reason never bothered me on Seinfeld. I actually had to do a double-take when it was mentioned that they even *had* a laugh track.

The Simpsons.

I never really got the appeal of Seinfeld, as a person or a television show.

Neither, really.

But given a choice between the two, it's Seinfeld far and away. I haven't seen the Simpsons in years, and I don't plan on changing that.
