We carry a lot of porn titles (singles) and we are out of the plastic sleeves for the adult books.

Diamond is also out of them.

i am trying to order them elsewhere, but I can't think of what they are called.

I am looking for regular comic sized 'adult' bags, and magazine size as well.

anyone know where I can go.

all I am getting is fucking plastic bags for storing screws (which isn't what I am looking for)

Help!!

I tried them.

apparently they only have 'clear' sleeves. (unless I am looking in the wrong place)

I need the ones with the black to cover up 'naughty bits'.

You can always use regular bags and strategically place some stickers on the outside.

Yep, this or just use paper bags, make your own covers.

ah. crap.

Option B:
use backing cardboard and cut out everything but the top 1/4th? My LCS had this issue the other day & that was their solution.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help :(

We tried that.

We are spending more on 'strategically placed stickers' on the front and back of these books.

Its cheaper to buy the bags that cover everything but the title and the number.

It is also less attention drawing.

People who come in for porn books know where to go.

People who don't come in for porn barely notice the row of books in black sleeves.

But, now we have a row of clear plastic sleeves with multi-colore stickers over people's anatomy, and it draws more attention to those titles when you have a multi-colored extraviganza going on over someone's crotch.

no worries, thanks for trying.

As for the boards...we'd just be spending that much more on boards.

We would rather get the items that were meant for these books, not jerry-rigging something that looks stupid.

The real question is Who buys that shit?

Seriously i can see flipping through them on the rack or even buying one out of curiousity but i can't even imagine the level of retardation needed to actively collect Porn Comics.

wait one second....

it just turns out, one of our faithful customers just came in and read your post (after picking up an issue of AG Super Erotic Anthology).

We both think your outlook is retarded, but I will let him speak for himself:
(all of his comments were in bold)

why do we all collect comics? the art? the story? that sublime combination which gives what my wife calls "static animation" true life? If the answer to any of the above queries is in the affirmative then "Porn Comics" have just as much collectability as non-Porn Comics. "Level of retardation"? Is sex any less noble than mmmmm i don't than vigilante justice? Is it somehow better to pick up the swimsuit issues of "big tit comics monthly" than the act itself? What scares me more are the cats who are more titilated by their hero comics than the real thing staring them in the face.

well then....there you go.

We used to copy the covers and put paper over the "dicey bits."

Now...they've moved to subscriber only...as our lease has limitations on displaying "such material."

But...there's always the bathroom for "private viewing." :-D

I resent that... I notice the porn every time!

Then again, I have a highly sensitive porndar.

I have the Xxxenophille collection because I like Phil Foglio's art and I thought that it was funny and, yes, sexy.

So, fuck you.

The store I worked at in college used to just cover them with a sheet of typing paper.

I got a question for you-

Are these porn comics or actually porn magazines, like you would get at a newstand or porn store? If they aren't comics, then why are you even carrying them? Midtown Comics in NYC has a large selection of porn magazines, and I always tried to avoid it there because of that. I mean, I love porn as much as the next guy, but comics have enough of a stigma to overcome that selling porn at the same store (and next to the toy section!) is a little much.

If it's porn comics, like I have seen at every other comic store, then it makes sense, I can't argue with selling them. But porn magazines at a comic book store is stupid, in my eyes.

I answered that in a previeous post.

These are porn comics, not porn magazines.

Why would we carry them....?

because they bring people/money into the store.

Out of curiosity... do the people that come in to buy porn comics buy other stuff? If so, what other books do they read?

all kinds.

all kinds of books.

I mean I don't sit there and note what other books people who read porn books get, any more than I notice if someone gets a micky mouse adventures what else they are reading.

People come in on Wed. and since we get new porn comics in w/our new superhero comics, they come in and get the books they want much like any other customer.

What kind of Super Retailer are you? Shouldn't you know the buying habits of all your regular customers, so you can better advise them on purchases? ;)

You could put them i na section then put a tarp around it and put a sign that says 18+ on it. So that way you can leave them open and no kids see it.

I bet he was just getting the porn so you wouldn't know he was going to beat off to elves.
