Hey guys,

My buddy and I want to play a new 2-4 player co-op video game, and I thought I'd see if you guys have any suggestions. Our default game is X-Men Legends 2, but since we recently beat the first one, we're hoping for something different. We have all the systems except the 360...

Thanks,

Joe

Are you talking about on the same console only or online or either?

Midway Arcade Treasures 1 and 2 have many co-op games on them.

LEGO Star Wars (and the upcoming sequel)

Halo 2

I'm drawing a blank.

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks is pretty good co-op.

Yeah, there aren't many, which is a damn shame. Lego Star Wars? Really? I've heard it's a fun game, but I never figured it for a multiplayer...I'll have to look into that...

Gauntlet: Legends was great. Even my friend who hates videogames loved it. I haven't played the latest Gauntlet game, though.

Halo 2

How good is Halo 2's co op? Anyone play it at all (not online)?

I loved Gauntlet: Legends. So much fun. I don't understand why more coop games aren't made, I really don't.

FF: Crystal Chronicles wasn't as bad as people make it out to be.

Balder's Gate: Dark Alliance. A lot of fun. I've even got my wife to play it once or twice, and she doesn't like playing video games too often.

Some of my faves:
Baldur's Gate 1 and 2
D&D Heroes
Hunter: The Reckoning, Redeemer, and Wayward
Timesplitters: Future Perfect

You can co-op on The Warriors, thought I didn't like how the screen was split vertically instead of just sharing the same space.

Also, if you dig survival horror games, I heard Obscure rocks. And it's only $19.99 :)

Dynasty Warriors is a lot of fun, too. You can snag a copy of 3 or 4 for about 20 bucks or less.

I don't know if you dig RPGs, but Tales of Symphonia has co-op battles. But RPGs are kind of hard to play together.

There's a Co-op mode in the new Katamari game. But I'll just agree with the Dark Alliance recommendations. Those games are pretty fun.

Tennis for Dreamcast is also a classic.

Does Halo 2 have split screen co-op? That's what I'm mainly looking for...

Awesome. Anyone play it this way? Any opinions?

Yeah, it's fun. Just played the first couple stages, though. The original Halo was much more fun in Co-op. A friend and I almost beat it on the hardest difficulty setting.

Gauntlet gets another thumbs up from me.

Lord of the Rings...can't remember which one, want to say the Return of the King.

Everquest has a Baldur's Gate-like co-op RPG (not the online EQ clone console game) that is pretty darned good.

The Dynasty Warriors games are all excellent games for multiple players.

There's always hockey. =)

My LCS has 4 linked X-boxes and 8 guys come in once a week on their lunch break to play halo 2. they seem to have a really good time.
