Regardless of my feelings of the end I must say that your art is absolutely stunning and elevates the story Millar is chronicling. Page after page, panel after panel, just gorgeous work.
Keep this up and I'm going to have to break out one of my kid's bib every time I read one of your books. I just can't stop drooling!

The action sequence with car chase was unbelievable, Steve McNiven, this book make you go down in comic book history!
I also like the facial expressions you give the characters, and their detailed hairs, just beautiful.
Keep up the great work!

Your depiction of Patriot scared my girlfriend. There are just so many things you do right (equally strong in the quiet and the loud moments, detai, pacing, action, composition, design, etc), it's astounding.

Mr. McNiven I just have to say, "Kudos!" Civil War #2 was one of the best comics I have ever read. The big reveal was beyond well done, but the rest of the issue was easily spectacular - particularly the Patriot chase and the reveal of the resistance. And the small character moment of Tony Stark and Happy Hogan in the elevator - gorgeous. An amazing piece of work.

Ya Patriot was a little wacky looking the chase sequence. Also your colorist got the color of shoulder line of Patriot's costume wrong. The whole thing is blue no red is present. Except on the shield and pants. Surely Cheung told you that. It's only in one of the panels. You know the whole where Mr. Fantastic doesn't take Patriot's view on the Act seriously.

The thing I said I meant as a compliment. Patriot looked dishevled and freaked out and it added to the story.

Hey, great work man. And I was just wondering if there's a colored version of the last page where Spidey's wearing the iron spidey costume. I would love to see that page finished.

I'm just proud to say that I was a McNiven fan when he was still starting out...this series will put him on McFarlane/Cassaday/Jim Lee status level. Great job on bringing some beautiful artwork and great storytelling.

Well obviously the ending leaps out at you, but McNiven does such a great job of crafting each page that every panel is a joy to look at. He really does a remarkable job of complimenting the writer and capturing the scenes, elements, and facial expressions of the story.
That was an amazing chase scene! The Patriot jumping from the building and the glass shattering...stunning!
And this was a cool page from issue 1.

Regarding the Patriot chase/breakout scenes... Beyond just clear, clean story telling I think McNiven has really taken other influences and elevated them. In his background and setting work I truly feel like I'm seeing a more modernistic NY. He works from more traditional but mood directed rooftop chase to highway/hideaway with such a modernistic, futuristic flavor that it reminds me of Ottomo flavored with stylized realism. It's the highest compliment I can pay. It's a a treat to anyone whose palate likes to to be challenged.

You and Hitchy both portray action in such a cinematic way I don't see with any other artists.
You guys are in a league of your own and above the likes of Lee and MacFarlane in my opinion.

I agree, it's the only way I can explain to someone why I like McNiven's art so much.
