to discover that Topher Grace is Venom in the Spider Man 3 movie. How the hell is that suppose to work? He dosen't seem like Eddie to me.

I assume he's playing Ultimate Eddie Brock, who was close to being the same age as Pete.

I think they are going for a "Venom is an evil Spider-Man, so let's make Eddie Brock like Peter Parker" type of deal. Utimate Venom, essentially, except less redneck.
