It might be close.


The final box office for Batman Begins is

Domestic: $205,343,774
+ Foreign: $166,510,009

= Worldwide: $371,853,783


As of right this morning, X-Men 3's box office is:

Domestic: $186,166,074
+ Foreign: $139,829,423

= Worldwide: $325,995,497

It needs to make about 45 million more to overtake BB.

You think it will happen, or was the film too front loaded.

Done and Done. There is no way it doesn't cross it, especially Worldwide. Domestic, I think it'll just limp over the line.

I dunno. Personally, I liked X3 better.
My opinion probably won't affect the box-office take.

Besides, Batman Begins was the highest grossing comic book movie last year. I'm happy with that title.

They reckon it will do $15m this weekend, that would put it about 4 behind domestically. X3 could also do pretty big in Japan, where it is yet to open.


$420m WW isn't out of the question.

Unless Fox pulls all their prints from theatres after this weekend, it will most definitely pass BATMAN BEGINS. It's good for another $17 million this weekend, and should have the rest a couple of days into the work week. Once its all said and done, it'll probably have surpassed BATMAN by a good $20-30 million.

it will. most of the time, movies make about 3 time what they made their first weekend. xmen made in 3 days what, 90 million or so? it'll make about 250 before its really done.

Three times is usually a good place to start, but X-MEN 3 is going to be lower than that (especially after that huge second weekend drop). Something closet to 2.5 is probably going to be the best it'll manage. Though its opening weekend was actually $104 million, so $240-250 is still likely.
