View Full Version : I admit to having never read a comic from Dan Slott.

But I did pre-order the TPB for The Thing after hearing a lot of good stuff. I really like the character, but I've been trying to not pick up any new Marvel books unless they are being written by someone that I hold in high regard.

So hopefully this will be as good as everyone says, at which point I will pick up the trades for She-Hulk.

Mr. Slott, I wish you all the luck in the world. :D

Well, let me be the first to say, welcome aboard :)

Pssh, as slow as DCBS can be at sending out books, don't welcome me quite yet. ;)

That's one heck of a toe-dipper. I don't even think THING represents Dan's best work at Marvel. SHE-HULK, SPIDEY/TORCH and GLA all the way, baby...

I really do want to try She-Hulk, but The Thing TPB was the most bang for my buck.

Assuming, that is, its page count increases beyond the solicited 144 pages (which could not contain eight THING issues) and the price stays exactly where it is...

Yeah, I'm hoping that the page count is what is incorrect about the solicit. Maybe Dan has some insight?

Agreed.

I had a copy of the SM/HT digest when I was at an aport a few weeks ago, and was chatting with a couple from Ohio, and I gave it to them to give to their 12 year old son. SM/HT is great for kids.

Actually, come to think of it, at $7.99 for five issues that digest is actually the best value of all the Slott books... and you can get it right now as opposed to in a few months!
